"Let Me Love You" is a song recorded by French electronic music producer DJ Snake, taken as the third single from his debut studio album, Encore (2016). It features vocals from Canadian singer Justin Bieber,[3] the artists co-wrote the song with Nick Kibler, Andrew Watt, Ali Tamposi, Brian Lee, and Louis Bell, while the song's production was handled by DJ Snake. The song was released on 5 August 2016, through Interscope Records, its music video was released on 29 November 2016 in YouTube.

Composition[edit]

"Let Me Love You" is written in the key of C minor with a tempo of 100 beats per minute in common time. The song follows a chord progression of Cm7 – E – E/G – A – E/G – A, and Bieber's vocals span from C3 to C5.[4]

Music video[edit]

The music video for the song was released on 29 November 2016. Rolling Stone magazine referred to the video as "Bonnie and Clyde with a twist" as it shows a few takes with a couple engaging in a high speed chase, a run in with a head boss and a makeout session in the getaway car. In the end, it is revealed that the action sequences are part of a video simulation and the players on the other side are in fact two males with virtual reality devices on, this video was directed by James Lees.[5]

Chart performance[edit]

In the United States, "Let Me Love You" debuted at number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 on the issue dated 27 August 2016. The single opened at number-one on Digital Songs with 113,000 downloads, becoming DJ Snake's first and Bieber's sixth number-one on the chart,[6] on the issue dated 1 October 2016, "Let Me Love You" advanced six places to reach number six, becoming DJ Snake's third top 10 and Bieber's twelfth top 10 single. It reached number four the following week.[7]

The remix of the song with the collaboration of American R&B singer R. Kelly debuted at number 24 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 on the issue dated 14 January 2017. The remix opened at number 11 on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs with 25,000 downloads.[8]

A remix of the song by popular producer and DJ Marshmello was released on 1 December 2016 and has since collected over 13 million views on Proximity, the YouTube channel on which the remix was first debuted.[9]

Another remix of the song featured Jamaican singer Sean Paul.[citation needed]
