.Wav Theory (sometimes stylized as .WAV Theory[4]) is a mixtape by American rapper Towkio.[5] It was released on April 28, 2015.[6] It includes production from Kaytranada and Lido, as well as guest appearances from Vic Mensa and Chance the Rapper.[7] Music videos were created for "I Know You",[8] "Free Your Mind",[9] ".Wav Theory",[10] "Reflection",[11] and "Clean Up".[12]

Reception[edit]

Matthew Strauss of Pitchfork gave .Wav Theory a 6.2 out of 10, saying, "Towkio's nebulousness leaves .Wav Theory as an enjoyable album that asks few questions and gives few answers."[2]

.Wav Theory was ranked at number 27 on Complex's "Best Albums of 2015" list,[13] number 13 on RedEye's "20 Best Albums of 2015" list,[14] and number 9 on Chicago Tribune's "Top 10 Chicago Indie Albums of 2015" list.[15]
