The AUP[edit]

  • Able, Underemployed, and Power-hungry, a transnational political movement without a set ideology (though it has been associated with anti-fascism) which draws its inspiration from a passage of George Orwell's dystopian novel, Nineteen Eighty-Four: "From the point of view of our present rulers, therefore, the only genuine dangers are the splitting-off of a new group of able, under-employed, power-hungry people, and the growth of liberalism and scepticism in their own ranks."
