2017 OBOS-ligaen

1. Divisjon is the second highest level of the Norwegian football league system. From the 2015 season, it will be branded as OBOS-ligaen, after a six-year deal was agreed with the housing cooperative OBOS,[1] the league was established in 1948 following a reorganisation of the Norwegian league system.

Formally, it was a semi-professional league.[2]

Format[edit]

In 2009, the number of teams in Eliteserien expanded from 14 to 16.[3]
