100 Streets is a British drama film directed by Jim O'Hanlon and starring Idris Elba. It made its debut in the United Kingdom on 11 November 2016, before being released in American theaters and on video-on-demand on 13 January 2017 by Samuel Goldwyn Films.[3]


The film centers on three characters who have to meet in London for special reasons and under unlikely circumstances. One of the characters is known as Max, a former rugby captain who struggles to keep his marriage together with his estranged wife, Emily. The film also follows a gangster addicted to smoking and often caught up in dangerous acts involving the police, namely Kingsley, though is on the path to a better life with the help of Terence, while George is a gentle cab driver looking for the chance of a child with his wife, Kathy, or Kath.



Writer/producer Leon Butler penned the script and also single-handedly raised the entire £3 million budget from private equity.[1]


The film was released in the United Kingdom on 11 November 2016, and was released in the United States in theaters and on video-on-demand on 13 January 2017 by Samuel Goldwyn Films.[3]


On review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, the film currently has a score of 40%, based on 35 reviews, and an average score of 4.7.[5]

On Metacritic the film currently holds a score of 44 out of 100, based on 11 critics, indicating "mixed or average reviews".[6]
