1325 Policy Group is a Swedish non-governmental organization and member of the Global Network of Women Peacebuilders (GNWP), working for the full implementation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325 and the women, peace, and security agenda nationally and internationally. The organization's objective is to strengthen civil society actors and others wanting to contribute to the implementation of UNSCR 1325 and women’s increased participation in all matters to do with peace and security, through capacity building.

Organization and purpose[edit]

The organization's long-term vision is that women can participate in peace processes and conflict resolution to the same extent and on the same terms as men.

The organization works to fulfill its objective through training, capacity building, advocacy, method development, as well as the development of new policies on women, peace, and security. One of the methods employed is civil society monitoring of the Women, Peace and Security agenda;[1] in 2014 1325 Policy Group has conducted trainings and monitoring in Azerbaijan and Libya.

International Security Sector Reform expert Anthony Cleland Welch is a member of the organization's group of experts. One of the organization's focus areas is Gender and Security Sector Reform.

In 2014 the organization was one of the signatories to the International Alliance of Women Gender, Economic, Social and Ecological Justice for Sustainable Development Declaration for Post 2015.[2]
