The 1972 Iowa Hawkeyes football team represented the University of Iowa in the 1972 Big Ten Conference football season. This was the last season the Hawkeyes played in Iowa Stadium before it was renamed Kinnick Stadium after Heisman Trophy winner Nile Kinnick.
