A1 motorway (Serbia)

The A1 motorway is a motorway in Serbia and with approximately 590 kilometers it is the longest motorway in Serbia. It crosses the country north to south, starting at Horgoš border crossing with Hungary. Significant works are undergoing for its reconstruction and enhancement, the highway consists of three major sections, Horgoš–Subotica–Novi Sad–Belgrade, Belgrade–Niš and Niš–Leskovac–Preševo–Macedonian border. After enhancement works, mostly completed in 2011, the whole Horgoš–Grdelica, enhancement of southern part, financed by Serbian Government and Hellenic Plan is still in progress. Northern and central section are linked through the heart of the city of Belgrade, the enhancement of southern part is operated and split in the following sections, Tables current progress status is as of 18 March 2017

Koznik

The castle was built on the top of a steep hill dominating the surrounding terrain on 920 m altitude. The castle was mentioned for the first time in a decree of Prince Lazar, in the early 15th century, Koznik belonged to Grand Čelnik Radič, one of the most important knights at that time. After a brief Ottoman conquest of Koznik, the returned to Despot Đurađ Branković in 1444. The Ottomans again seized the castle at same time when they conquered Kruševac in 1454-1455, Koznik is an example of a small highland fortified castle. It has a polygonal base that follows the configuration of the terrain. South from the fort were other constructions, with some remnants still recognizable today, Koznik Fortress was declared Monument of Culture of Great Importance in 1979, and it is protected by Republic of Serbia. Rasina District

The Rasina District is one of eight administrative districts of Šumadija and Western Serbia. It expands to the parts of Serbia. According to the 2011 census results, it has a population of 241,999 inhabitants, the administrative center of the Rasina district is Kruševac. The district encompasses the municipalities of, Varvarin Trstenik Ćićevac Kruševac Aleksandrovac Brus According to the last official census done in 2011,53. 8% of the population lives in the urban areas. The Lazarica Church, built in 1376 on the occasion of Stephans son birth, a Donjon Tower, the military fortification of the medieval castle, bears witness of the great cultural and historic heritage of the Serb people. From its first days the Ljubostinja played an important part in culture, distinguished chroniclers, engrossers, book design masters, and painters were asked to come here. In the economy of this region prevails chemical industry, Merima, Miloje Zakić, also prominent are the 14 oktobar a giant company from Kruševac in the sector of metal industry, and the Crvena zastava in the sector of timber and wood industry.
