Emby (formerly Media Browser)[1] is a media server designed to organize, play, and stream audio and video to a variety of devices.[2] Emby is a mostly open-source software title, with some closed-source components as of August 2017[3], and uses a client-server model.

Two comparable media servers are Plex[4] and Windows Media Center.[5]

Emby Server and clients have been developed for Windows, Linux, OS X, FreeBSD. Mobile clients have been developed for Android, iOS, and Windows Phone.[6][7]
