Delfino Pescara 1936
Delfino Pescara 1936, simply known as Pescara Calcio or just Pescara, is an Italian football club based in Pescara, Abruzzo. The club was formed in 1936 and currently plays in Serie A. Pescara has competed in six seasons in Serie A, 1977–78, 1979–80, 1987–88, 1988–89, 1992–93, 2012–13, the teams official colors are white and light blue. Aside from a spell in Serie B in the 1940s, Pescara had an undistinguished history until promotion to Serie B in 1974. A second promotion after a play-off followed, but once more they would be relegated from the top flight, after returning to Serie B after a year, Pescara would enjoy a revival after the appointment of Giovanni Galeone as coach in 1986. Galeone would return during the 1990–91 season and oversaw another promotion the following year, after relegation, Pescara remained in Serie B side throughout the 1990s, narrowly missing promotion in 1999. Relegation to C1 followed in 2001, with promotion in 2003 being followed by two revoked relegations in a row due to bankruptcy and scandals affecting other clubs, Pescara was ultimately relegated in the 2006–07 season, with three presidential and managerial changes during the season.
In December 2008, the club was legally declared out of business. In February 2009, a takeover from a group named Delfino Pescara 1936 was finalized with Deborah Caldora becoming the first woman to serve as chairman for the club. In the meantime, results did not improve significantly and in March, at the beginning of the 2009–10 season, Eusebio Di Francesco was appointed as the new coach. Pescara finished second in Girone B of Lega Pro Prima Divisione and they defeated Reggiana in the semi-final and Verona in the final and subsequently returned to Serie B after a three-year absence. Pescara secured promotion to the top-level after a 19-year absence after defeating Sampdoria with a 3–1 score in a match on 20 May 2012. Pescara began the 2012–13 campaign looking for a new manager after Zdeněk Zeman left the club to manage Roma. Pescara started their new season in Serie A with a 3–0 loss to Internazionale, and they would not earn their first win until the game of the season. That season and leading-scorer Vladimír Weiss was noted for picking up two red cards and Messina are known as Gemellaggi with Pescara.
It is a concept to having a twin or sister city between cities. Lazio and Verona are known to be rivals with Pescara, pescaras regional rivals are Chieti, Virtus Lanciano and LAquila, they havent faced either team since 2002 due to financial troubles. Unione Calcio Sampdoria, commonly known as Sampdoria, is an Italian association football club based in Genoa. The club was formed in 1946 from the merger of two existing sports clubs whose roots can be traced back to the 1890s, Sampierdarenese and Andrea Doria, Sampdoria currently compete in Serie A. Both the team name and jersey do reflect this, the first being a combination of the former names, the teams colours are blue with white and black hoops, hence the nickname blucerchiati. Sampdoria play at Stadio Luigi Ferraris, capacity 36,536, the derby between the two teams is commonly known as the Derby della Lanterna. Sampdoria have won the Scudetto only once in their history, in 1990–91, the club has won the Coppa Italia four times and one Supercoppa Italiana. Their biggest European success came when they won the Cup Winners Cup in 1989–90 and they reached the European Cup final in 1991–92, losing the final 1–0 to Barcelona after extra time. The Ginnastica Sampierdarenese was founded in 1891, opening its section in 1899.
Also around this time, a club named Society Andrea Doria was founded in 1895, the club eventually joined the competition for the 1903 Italian Football Championship, but did not win a game in the tournament until 1907, when they beat local rivals Genoa 3–1. It was not until 1910–11 that the club began to show promise, during that seasons tournament, they finished above Juventus and Genoa in the Piedmont-Lombardy-Liguria section. After World War I, Sampierdarenese finally began to compete in the Italian Championship, after they bought a club of Genoa province. With the 1921–22 season, the Italian top league was split into two competitions, both of the clubs in Sampdorias history were in competitions that year too. Sampierdarenese played in the FIGC-run competition, whereas Andrea Doria played in the CCI variation, Sampierdarenese won the Ligura section and went on to the semi-finals, finishing top out of three clubs, this lead them to the final against Novese. Both legs of the final ended in 0–0 draws, thus a repetition match was played in Cremona on 21 May 1922, still intensely difficult to separate, the match went into extra time with Novese eventually winning the tie 2–1.
After the league system in Italy was brought back into one item, at the end of the 1926–27 season, the clubs merged by fascist authorities under the name La Dominante. Wearing green and black striped shirts, La Dominante Genova were admitted to the first ever season of Serie B, the next season, under the name Liguria, they had a disastrous year, finishing bottom of the table and suffering relegation. Because of this, both Sampierdarenese and Andrea Doria reverted to their previous names as separate clubs, Sampierdarenese were back in Serie B for the 1932–33 season and finished in the upper part. The following year, they were crowned champions and were promoted into Serie A for the first time, in the early 1940s, the club was relegated, but bounced straight back up as Serie B champions in 1941. Casale Foot Ball Club A. S. D. is an Italian football club, based in Casale Monferrato, Piedmont. The club currently plays in Serie D, the teams nickname nerostellati refers to the team’s colours of black with a white star on the heart. When the club was founded in 1909 Casale was at the centre of the new footballing movement in Italy. Genoa, Pro Vercelli, Internazionale Torino and Alessandria were all leading clubs in the Italian football league system, in May 1913 Casale became the first Italian club to defeat an English professional team when they beat Reading F. C. 2–1. Reading won all the games on this tour, defeating Genoa, Pro Vercelli. In the following season Casale won their first and only national title, Italian football was organized on a regional basis and the national championship was divided into three stages. Casale topped the Ligurian-Piedmontese division and proceeded, along with second-placed Genoa, having won that division, Casale defeated central-southern champions Lazio 7–1, 0–2 in the two-leg final.
After World War I Casale remained in the top division for a couple of decades, with the development of professionalism, Casale was progressively relegated to lower divisions,1934 being their last year in Serie A. The club was refounded twice, in 1993 and 2013, very heated rivalry between the fans Casale and Alessandria. During this period he made 37 appearances for the Azzurri and he represented Italy in the 1924 Olympics and won a bronze medal at the 1928 Summer Olympics before leaving Casale for Juventus. His total of 59 caps stood as a record for many years, eraldo Monzeglio, to represent Italy on numerous occasions, including the 1934 and 1938 World Cups, made his Serie A debut with Casale in 1924–25. Atalanta Bergamasca Calcio, commonly known as just Atalanta, Atalanta Bergamo or the abbreviation Atalanta BC, is an Italian football club based in Bergamo, Lombardy. The club currently plays in Serie A, having gained the promotion from Serie B in 2010–11 and they are nicknamed the Nerazzurri and the Orobici. Atalanta play in blue-and-black vertically striped shirts, black shorts and black socks, the club stadium is the 26,638 seater Atleti Azzurri dItalia. The club won the Coppa Italia in 1963 and reached the Cup Winners Cup semi-final in 1988 and this is still the best ever performance by a non-first division club in a major UEFA competition. Atalanta participated twice in the UEFA Cup, reaching the quarter-finals in 1990–91, the club was founded in 1907. A football club had existed in Bergamo since 1904, founded by Swiss immigrants, it was known as Foot Ball Club Bergamo. The rival Atalanta club grew out of a division between different sporting societies in the town, the name is taken from the female athlete of Greek mythology.
The FIGC was unimpressed with the new club and did not officially recognize them until 1914, the current club is the result of a merger between Atalanta and a third team called Bergamasca. The first and white coloured and the wearing a blue and white shirt. The team moved to the site of the current ground, on the Viale Giulio Cesare, Atalanta joined the Italian league in 1929. The club first reached Serie A in 1937, but was relegated immediately, the club achieved its highest position in 1948, finishing in fifth place. In 1981, the fell into Serie C1, a blow which revitalised the club. The team returned to Serie B the next season and made it back to Serie A in 1984, the clubs form in Serie A remains uncertain, as it was relegated in 1987,1994,1998,2003,2005 and 2010. After a change of ownership, in 2011, Atalanta immediately came back to Serie A, in terms of titles the club has won little, their sole silverware is the 1963 Coppa Italia. The club has had a few runs in Europe, on several occasions being eliminated by the eventual winners.
Welsh club Merthyr Tydfil caused an upset in the 1987–88 European Cup Winners Cup, oddly enough, the only other team to do so being Merthyr Tydfils countrymen at Cardiff City. Atalanta reached the UEFA Cup quarter-finals in the 1990–91 season, losing to local rivals Internazionale, in recent years, the club was relegated after the 2002–03, 2004–05 and 2009–10 seasons, but gained the promotion to Serie A after only one season every time. A.S.D. La Biellese
Associazione Sportiva Dilettantistica Junior Biellese Libertas is an Italian football club, based in Biella, Piedmont that currently plays in Eccellenza Piedmont and Aosta Valley. The historic club was founded in 1902 as U. S. Biellese, in 1930 the club changes its name to A. S. Biellese and disbanded in the summer 1993, in the summer 1993 the provincial club of F. C. Vigliano, just promoted in Eccellenza Piemonte, changes its name to F. C. V. Biellese-Vigliano which becomes Biellese F. C. in 1997, for regaining A. S. Biellese 1902 finished 17th in Girone A of Serie C2 2006-07 and was forced to play in the playoffs, where it lost 3–2 on aggregate to 14th-placed Lumezzane. In the Serie D 2007–08 season, the played in Girone A where it placed a distant second to Alessandria. However, the team did participate in the Serie D playoffs, in July 2010 the club was disbanded. In summer 2010, two local clubs, A. S. D. Junior Biellese 2009, from the Terza Categoria and A. S. D, Libertas Biella Cossato, that has played in Promozione Piemonte group A the previous season placing 12th, have decided to merge, for take the place of the old A. S.

U.S. Alessandria Calcio 1912
Unione Sportiva Alessandria Calcio 1912 is the professional Italian football club based in Alessandria, Piedmont. In the current season, it plays in Lega Pro group A, founded in 1912, Alessandria spent 13 seasons in Serie A between 1929 and 1960 and 21 in Serie B, it reached one Coppa Italia final in 1936. With the promotion in 2009 in Lega Pro Prima Divisione, the team left a period of financial troubles. Football arrived in Alessandria in the end of 19th century, there are reports regarding a match played in which a team of Alessandria played against one from Genoa. Unione Pro Sport took part in exhibition tournaments with teams based in Turin. On 15 March 1898, it was invited to join the constituents of FIF, took part in the first official championship qualification round and and Genoa CFC, it preferred to leave and keep on participating in tournaments organized by FGNI. In 1908 Forza and Coraggio members decided to set up a team which could finally dispute the Italian Championship and it happened on 18 February 1912 with the foundation of Alessandria Foot Ball Club by Enrico Badò, Amilcare Savojardo and Alfredo Ratti, who was elected first director.
The first shirts, bought from Vigor Torino, were azure, the team was admitted to the Promozione for the 1912–13 season, immediately gaining a promotion after a decisive match played against Vigor Torino in Novara, of which the score was 3–0. Already in the 1914–15 season, the team in Piedmont was very good. After World War I, Alessandria F. B. C. continued to improve its performances, in the 1919–20 season, it prevailed in the elimination round and lost to Genoa in the semifinals. In November 1920, FBC merged with another Alessandria team, US Alessandria, established in 1915, keeping the grey shirt, at the end of the 1920–21 season, the club gained admission to the North Italy championship semifinals after a playoff in Milan against Modena F. C. On 10 July 1921, Alessandria US lost the chance to qualify for the Northern Italy final, Pro Vercelli in a violent match bitterly contested by Alessandria, they chose to withdraw in protest after just an hour of play, after a serious head injury occurred in Carcano.
In the first round, which was trained by Carlo Carcano, defeated Livorno, Andrea Doria, Alba Rome, that year the works for the new stadium started. Alessandria players at the time were Giovanni Ferrari, Luigi Bertolini and Adolfo Baloncieri, in 1928 Alessandria came close to winning the championship, after qualifying for the eight-team final round, they started to fight for the title against Baloncieris Torino. It was a heavy, unexpected defeat at Casale that erased the dreams of Carcanos team, alessandrias Goalkeeper Curti, suspected by most of illicit activities, was soon expelled. Furthermore, already heavily discredited after the Allemandi Case, at the end of the 1928–29 season Alessandria was admitted to the first edition of Serie A tournament and finally inaugurated the new stadium. In 1936, the team, after beating Cremonese, Modena and Milan, joined the Coppa Italia final, played in Genoa on 11 June, in the summer of 1936 S. S. Serie B, currently named Serie B ConTe. it due to sponsorship reasons, is the second-highest division in the Italian football league system after the Serie A. It is contested by 22 teams and organized by the Lega Serie B since July 2010, common nicknames for the league are campionato cadetto and cadetteria, as cadetto is the Italian for junior or cadet. Serie B was composed of 20 teams until the 2002–03 season and it was enlarged to 24 teams for the 2003–04 season due to legal problems relating to Calcio Catania relegation. The league reverted to 22 teams for the 2004–05 season, while Serie A expanded from 18 to 20 teams, during the regular season, each team plays 42 games – two games against every opponent. In Italian football, a true round-robin format is used, in the first half of the season, called andata, each team plays once against all its opponents, a total of 21 games. Since the 2006–07 season, the Serie B champion is awarded the cup Ali della Vittoria, the trophy is 63 cm high and weighs 5 kg.
Its structure represents the wings of the goddess Nike, the goddess of victory, Serie B matches are usually played on Saturday. After one year where all games were played on Saturday, the league is again scheduling one game that is played on Friday called anticipo, the league plays on several Tuesdays to fit in all 42 games. The league plays on Sunday if Serie A is off, at the end of the season, three teams are promoted to Serie A and four teams are relegated to the reformed Serie C. The top two teams are automatically promoted, under the new playoff format, up to three rounds may be required. The final two rounds are two-legged ties, while opening round matches are single legs hosted by the higher-ranked team, if a tie is drawn at the end of regular play, extra time is played. If the two teams are tied after thirty minutes, the higher classified team advances. In the relegation zone, the three last-placed teams are automatically demoted to Serie C, if the playout is necessary, the 18th and 19th-placed teams are paired in a two-legged series with home-field advantage in the 2nd leg going to the 18th-placed team.
The team with the aggregate score remains in Serie B while the loser becomes the fourth team relegated to Serie C. If an aggregate tie exists at the end of play of the 2nd leg, the 18th-placed team is saved. Even if part of the league, differently from First Division. Only in 1928, the big reform was conceived by FIGCs President Leandro Arpinati, after a year, a new second division based on the same national format of the major tournament would be born. Serie B began in 1929 with 18 clubs and continued until World War II after whom it was divided again between the northern and the part of the country, due to the destructions of the war
U.S. Triestina Calcio 1918
Unione Triestina 2012 Società Sportiva Dilettantistica is an Italian football club based in Trieste, in the region of Friuli Venezia Giulia. It currently plays in Serie D, the club was founded in 1918 as merger of local teams Ponziana and Foot-Ball Club Trieste. The club reached Seconda Divisione in 1924, the club successively featured in the first-ever Serie A season in 1929, and played consecutively to the Italian top flight until 1956. Rocco left in 1950 to be replaced by Hungarian Béla Guttman, another struggling season followed in 1951–52, with Triestina escaping relegation only after winning playoffs against Lucchese and Brescia. During the 1952–53 season, Cesare Maldini made his Serie A debut as a Triestina jersey, in 1953 Rocco returned to Triestina, but was sacked after 21 matchdays due to poor results. Three more mid-table seasons followed before Triestina suffered its first relegation in 1957, Triestina returned to Serie A in 1958, but were relegated in their first comeback season, which is their last top flight campaign to date.
Triestina played in second level between 1962–1965 and 1989–1991, in 1994, the team was forced to fold, because of financial insolvency, and was re-founded by Giorgio Del Sabato. The team restarted as U. S. Triestina Calcio from Serie D and was readmitted to Serie C2 by the one year later. In 2001, after six seasons in Serie C2, the club won promotion to Serie C1 after playoffs, this was followed by a second consecutive promotion, in the 2005–06 season, Triestina changed its manager five times. The list include the tandem Alessandro Calori-Adriano Buffoni, Pietro Vierchowod, caretaker Francesco De Falco, youth team coach Vittorio Russo, Tonellotto was successively ordered to leave the association because of financial troubles. The magistrates named Francesco De Falco as caretaker chairman with the idea of finding somebody interested to buy the club. Curiously, in the 2005–06 De Falco, a player for Triestina in the 80s, in April 2006 the team was purchased by the Fantinel family, owners of a wine company in the region.
In recent years, Triestina struggled to mount a campaign to end half-century absence from the Italian top flight. Triestina finished 8th in 2008–2009 season, on January 25,2012 the club in strong financial difficulty, has been declared bankrupt by the court of Trieste. In the season 2011–12 Triestina was relegated from Lega Pro Prima Divisione group B to Lega Pro Seconda Divisione, on 19 June 2012 the club was finally declared bankrupt and the team was disbanded. Stefano Mario Fantinel, former president of the club, was suspended from football activities for 5 years after the prosecutor found accounting irregularities of the club, in July, three more months were added due to player transfer irregularities. Fantinel was suspended for 3 months in 2006–07 Serie B, causing the club 1 point, on 31 July 2012 was founded the new company Unione Triestina 2012 Società Sportiva Dilettantistica that restarted from Eccellenza thanks to Article 52 of N. Associazione Calcio Dilettantistica Legnano or ACD Legnano are an Italian association football club based in Legnano, Lombardy. Founded in 1913, Legnano played three seasons in Serie A and a total of eleven seasons in the top tier of the Italian football league system. Legnanos most recent appearance in Serie A dates back to 1954, since the club have played at their highest at the third tier of the Italian league. The teams colours are lilac and white, the club were founded in 1913 as Football Club Legnano. Several notable players appeared for Legnano in their early years, goalkeeper Angelo Cameroni was called up to the Italian national side in 1920, he was the first Legnano player to achieve this. Luigi Allemandi played four seasons with the club from 1921 onwards and he won the World Cup with Italy at the 1934 FIFA World Cup. Legnano first gained access to Serie A for the 1930–31 season, the first match at the top level of Italian football was the shocking 2–1 defeat of Italys oldest club, Genoa C. F. C.
Unfortunately for Legnano, they finished at the bottom of the table that season and were relegated, and a 2–1 defeat of S. S. C. In the 1935–1936 season, the changed their name to Associazione Calcio Legnano. Left-winger Emilio Caprile was called up by the azzurri, to play in two games during 1948. He became the first Legnano player to score for Italy with a goal in each match, after their last relegation in from Serie A in 1953–54, the club have gradually declined. First they came close to promotion back into the league with a 3rd position in B, Legnano spent 18 years in a row competing in Serie C, only able to finish as high as 5th in that time. 1974–75 saw the club slump down to Serie D, this was rectified as coach Luciano Sassi pulled the club back into Serie C2 with a runners up spot in 1977–78. Giovanni Mari took over as president in 1979 and under him. This was the first time A. C. Legnano had finished first position in any league since 1919, the clubs stadium was named Stadio Giovanni Mari in honour of the man.
Following bankruptcy in 2010, Legnano subsequently folded and it was refounded on July 15,2011 as A. S. D. Legnano Calcio 1913 and was admitted to Group N of Prima Categoria Lombardy in the 2011–12 season, the club was promoted to Group A of Promozione Lombardy. The club had a second promotion after finishing as champions of Group A of Promozione Lombardy next season and was promoted to Group A of Eccellenza Lombardy
