The Indian High School is a CBSE-affiliated Indian school in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It was established in 1961 to provide education to the children of Indian expatriates, the first expatriate educational institution there; the school is one of a small number of not-for-profit schools in the emirate, is rated "Very Good" by Dubai's Knowledge and Human Development Authority. According to the school's CEO Dr Ashok Kumar 100% of its students go to university with around 32% going to the USA, UK and Canada, 35% attending UAE universities and the remainder choosing Indian universities; the Indian High School founded in 1961 by Maghanmal Pancholia with a view to providing education to children of Indian expats. It was the first expatriate educational institution; the land for the school was granted by the ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum. Initial enrollment was 8 students. Mr. Ashok Kumar is the current CEO of the school, he has been awarded the Sheikh Hamdan Award for Best Administrator and the Indian National Award by the President of India.
The school has about 600 teachers. The school has three campuses; the Junior School at Al Garhoud accommodates Pre-Primary classes. The Senior School in Oud Metha includes girls' Grades 5 to 12, who commence in the morning shift, boys' Grades 5 to 10, who commence in the afternoon shift, boys' Grades 11 and 12, who commence in the evening shift; the school operates the Indian International School, located in Dubai Silicon Oasis. The Oud Metha Metro Station on the Green Line is located near the senior school campus, the GGICO Metro Station on the Red Line is located next to the Junior School campus; the school has a fleet of buses to transport students and staff. A government hospital and a church are located on the road opposite the main campus, while a private hospital is located behind the junior school; the Kindergarten Starters is next to the junior school. The centerpiece of the School complex is the Sheikh Rashid Auditorium, which can accommodate about 1,600 guests, it had undergone renovations in the past, has been revamped.
Demolition of the Nehru Block began in 2016 and was completed in July 2018. The school has a number of laboratories for reference work and research work; the Aryabhatta Reference and Research Centre houses a collection of over 40,000 titles, 200 CDs and over 100 international periodicals and newspapers and has 20 workstations, browsing areas, collaborative learning zones and virtual classrooms. The English College, Dubai is an independent school in Dubai following the British curriculum from FS1 to Year 13. It is located in adjacent to Sheikh Zayed Road, opposite Oasis Mall; the English College prides itself on its multicultural student base and has 770 students from a variety of nationalities. Jumeirah English Speaking School
Jumeirah English Speaking School is a British private school located in Dubai, UAE. Its original campus on Sheikh Zayed Road is a primary school; as of December 2016, JESS has 2000 students enrolled. The students in secondary school follow the British curriculum, with year 11 students undertaking GCSE examinations. After the completion of GCSE, year 12 and 13 students follow the International Baccalaureate Curriculum, taking part in the Diploma Programme; the original JESS school in Jumeirah was founded in 1975 and celebrated its 40th birthday in 2005. The school was founded as a result of demand for institutions tailored to suit the needs of British families. At the time, the only other available school was the Dubai English Speaking School, over-subscribed. First opened in an apartment near the Dubai Clock Tower, JESS only had 17 pupils in 2 classes. In 1976, due to the influx of students, the school relocated to the villa of the school's headteacher, Miss Blue. In 1977, His Highness Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum granted the school land in the Jumeirah district of Dubai, where the school is located.
In 2000s, the Emirates experienced an influx of expats, as a result, the demand education grew, leading to the opening of JESS Arabian Ranches in 2005. It was the first school in Dubai to be built as a part of a significant planned housing development. JESS Arabian Ranches opened in September 2005 with 573 pupils - a primary school, with Years 7 and 8 offered in secondary. A sixth form was opened in 2009, offering the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, due to the increasing demand for the program in Dubai. After 2009, the school started offering all years, from KG1 to Year 13. Both of the campuses have a main building, surrounded by other school facilities, with both of the school's campuses containing swimming pools, a PE hall, netball courts and multi-purpose sports fields; the Arabian Ranches site contains a music center, a lecture theater and an auditorium. The sixth form building is separate from the main building in the Arabian Ranches campus, contains a common room, a study hall, a dining area and a locker room.
Jumeirah English Speaking School incorporates the National Curriculum of England and the IB Diploma Programme in its courses. Elementary students will start with the National Curriculum of England, with the secondary school students moving in to study the GCSE course. Following the completion of the course, students study either the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme or the IB Courses Programme in Years 12 and 13; the IBDP programme is different to the Courses programme. During IBDP, students have to study 6 subjects, 3 taken at Standard Level and 3 taken at the Higher Level; as well as that, students have to complete the "DP Core" consisting of Theory of Knowledge and Service and the Extended Essay. During the Courses programme, students can study 5 or 6 subjects, all of which may be taken at standard level. Community and Service is mandatory. Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Bangladesh Islamia School & College is an educational institute providing academic education to Bangladeshi and international students in Abu Dhabi, UAE, for secondary and higher secondary education. In 1990, Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Bangladesh Islamia School came into being as a full-fledged educational institution and started functioning in its own building in the heart of the capital city of Abu Dhabi; the school has English and Bengali medium from KG to 12th class. Since its inception, school has been following Dhaka Board's curriculum in English Medium. School was affiliated in 1988 and the college section was opened in 1991. Salaries of the teachers & staff are met up from the tuition fees only; the boys and girls are separated from class VI to class XII level. This school building was not sufficient to accommodate all the students in one shift. Two separate shifts for the boys and girls were going on for a long time, it was essential to make a new academic building for the boys. But due to shortage of fund it has been not possible. Delhi Private School, Dubai is a private, co-educational day school located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It was earlier run by the Delhi Public School Society. However, it is no longer associated with the Delhi Public School Society as the association ended in the year of 2017; the school has continuous tests and assignments.
