Northeast Eight Conference

An eight-member IHSAA-Sanctioned Athletic Conference within the Northeastern Indiana counties of Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Noble and Whitley. The conference was started in 1989 as the Northeast Hoosier Conference when six schools from the Northeastern Indiana Athletic Conference joined with two schools from the Allen County Athletic Conference; when the smaller six schools decided to pull out of the conference in 2015, the conference ceased to exist, forcing the much larger Carroll and Homestead into joining the Summit Athletic Conference. The remaining schools, while settling on the current league name, added Huntington North of the North Central Conference and Leo of the Allen County Athletic Conference, who are more similar in size to the rest of the schools. While the six NEHC schools technically dropped out, they never left the league, having succeeded in forcing out the two large Fort Wayne schools, ended up staying in the league; this is not an unheard of tactic, as most notably Ohio's Chagrin Valley Conference pulled the same move around the same time.

Troll 2

Troll 2 is a 1990 comedy horror film directed by Claudio Fragasso and starring Michael Stephenson, George Hardy, Margo Prey, Connie McFarland, Deborah Reed and Jason Wright. The plot concerns a family pursued by vegetarian goblins who seek to mutate them into plants so that they can eat them. Although produced under the title Goblins, United States distributors were skeptical about the film's chances to succeed as a standalone film and renamed it Troll 2 in an attempt to market it as a sequel to the 1986 Empire Pictures film Troll; the two films, have no connection, no trolls are depicted in Troll 2. The film's production was rife with difficulties revolving around the language barrier between the Italian-speaking crew and English-speaking cast, producer Joe D'Amato's approach to low-budget film making; the resulting film has come to be evaluated as one of the worst movies made. In subsequent years, the film garnered a large fanbase. In 2009, the child star of the film, directed a critically acclaimed documentary about its production and subsequent popularity, humorously titled Best Worst Movie.

Michael has always dreamed of being a farmer, arranges a home exchange vacation in which he and his family will move into a house in the rural farming community of Nilbog for a month. The night before the family is scheduled to leave, Michael's son Joshua is contacted by the ghost of his dead grandfather, warning him that vegetarian goblins want to mutate him and his family into plants so that they can eat them. Seth tells Joshua that goblins can mutate people into plants by feeding them drink. Meanwhile, Joshua's sister, receives a visit from her boyfriend Elliot. Holly accuses Elliot of being a homosexual. Elliot promises to show his devotion by accompanying the family on vacation; the next morning, Elliot fails to arrive and the family leaves without him. Outside of Nilbog, Seth appears as a hitchhiker, who warns Joshua that Nilbog is the kingdom of the goblins, that if his family eats anything while they are there, they will be mutated into plants; the family disbelieves Joshua's warnings and continue on to Nilbog, where they meet their strange and aloof exchange family, the Presents.

There, Joshua sets about destroying all of the food the family finds or acquires, such as by urinating over a feast prepared for them, with the help of Seth's ghost. Arnold encounters a girl being chased by goblins; when Arnold approaches them and insults them, they respond by throwing a spear into his chest. They flee to a chapel in the woods, where they encounter the goblins' queen, Druid Witch Creedence Leonore Gielgud, who uses the "Stonehenge Magic Stone" to give the goblins power. Creedence tricks them into drinking a magic potion that dissolves the girl into vegetable matter and mutates Arnold into a tree; the following morning and Joshua venture into town to buy some food, as there is none in their holiday home. When in town, they find the general store closed, Michael falls asleep on a bench. Joshua enters the local Church and eavesdrops on a goblin church sermon, which bewails the "evils" of eating meat; the parishioners capture him after seeing his skateboard roll into the church and attempt to force feed him poisonous ice cream.

Drew goes to the town because there are no food or drinks in the RV. The sheriff gives him a green hamburger; when he arrives in the town, Drew goes to the store and the owner offers him poisonous Nilbog milk. Feeling dizzy, he finds Arnold, who has mutated into a tree. Drew drags him out, she chainsaws Arnold into pieces. Drew is killed off-screen. At the house, the family discover that the townspeople have prepared them a surprise party to apologize for the events at the church. Joshua attempts to make contact with Seth, only for Creedence to appear in goblin form through the mirror, attacks Joshua. Seth's ghost chops her hand off with an axe. Creedence returns to her chapel, where she mutates herself into a beautiful woman in revealing clothes. During the party and Joshua try to cause a distraction using a Molotov cocktail, however the Priest captures them, takes the cocktail, recites a spell which banishes Seth's soul to Hell. However, before he vanishes, Seth summons a bolt of lightning from the sky, which ignites the cocktail and kills the Priest in a fiery explosion.

When Michael extinguishes his burning corpse, his true Goblin form is revealed, the villagers turn on the Waits, revealing themselves all as Goblins. The Waits and Elliot retreat to the house, where the villagers surround them and hold them hostage. Joshua, Holly and Diana hold a séance to communicate with Seth, who returns from the dead and tells them that he can retain a physical form for ten minutes before he has to return to the afterlife. Seth gives Joshua a paper bag containing a "secret weapon" to use against the goblins; the goblins break into the house and transport Joshua to Creedence's chapel, where Joshua opens the bag, revealing a "double-decker Bologna sandwich". He eats the sandwich; the family returns home, where Joshua's m

Mount Rungwe

Mount Rungwe is a volcanic mountain in Mbeya Region, in Tanzania's Southern Highlands. At an altitude of 2,981 metres, it is southern Tanzania's second highest peak. Rungwe's volcano is inactive. Rungwe stands at the junction of the western arms of the East African Rift, it dominates the mountainous country at the north-west end of the trough. The Kipengere Range lies to the east, the Poroto Mountains lie to the north. Kyejo volcano lies to the southeast; the Kyela Plain, which occupies the valley of the East African Rift, lies to the south, extending to Lake Malawi. The western slopes of the mountain are drained by the Kiwira River. Mount Rungwe is the center of the Rungwe Volcanic Province, a region of volcanic mountains that includes Mount Rungwe, Mount Ngozi in the Poroto Mountains, Kiejo. Rungwe Volcanic Province lies at a triple junction of rift valleys; the Lake Malawi Rift extends to the southeast, the Lake Rukwa rift to the northwest, the Usungu Rift to the northeast. The region has been volcanically active from the late Miocene to historical times.

Both Rungwe and Ngozi have had Plinian eruptions since the end of the Ice Age. The region has geothermal activity, including warm springs. Rungwe is topped with a 4-km-wide caldera, breached to the WSW. Rungwe had a large explosive eruption about 4000 years ago, the most recent eruption was about 1200 years ago. Kyejo last erupted around 1800. Mount Rungwe has a tropical montane climate. Most rainfall is during the November to April wet season, although mists and light rain occur during the dry season. Nighttime frosts are common from June to August; the southeastern slopes of these mountains receive up to 3 metres of rainfall a year, the highest rainfall in Tanzania. The plant communities on Mount Rungwe vary with elevation; the surrounding lowlands are miombo woodlands. Evergreen Lower Montane Forests are found on the lower slopes of the forest reserve in the southeast. Common trees include Aphloia theiformis, Ficalhoa laurifolia, Maesa lanceolata, Trichocladus ellipticus, Albizia gummifera, Bersama abyssinica.

Upper montane forests are found up to 2600 meters elevation, forming a broken canopy of about 10–25 meters. Common trees include Albizia gummifera, Aphloia theiformis, Bersama abyssinica, Bridelia micrantha, Diospyros whyteana, Hagenia abyssinica, Macaranga kilimandscharica, Maesa lanceolata, Maytenus acuminata, Myrianthus holstii, Neoboutonia macrocalyx. Schefflera goetzenii is a common creeping vine. At 2600 meters elevation, the Upper Montane Forests transition to a belt of bamboo covering about 866 hectares, heathland between 2600 to 2800 meters elevation; the heathland includes species of Erica and Aloe, with Hagenia abyssinica, Agauria salicifolia, Catha edulis, Hypericum revolutum, Maesa lanceolata. The mountaintop is bushed covering about 300 ha. High-elevation herbs include bracken, Buchnera rungwensis, Valeriana capensis. Two amphibians are named after Mount Rungwe. A genus of monkey, Rungwecebus was named for the mountain in 2005, it was thought to be a type of mangabey from the genus Lophocebus, until more detailed genetic analysis showed its closer connection to baboons.

Rungwecebus lives on Mt. Rungwe, in the adjacent Livingstone Forest Reserve in the Kipengere Range, with a disjunct population in the Udzungwa Mountains 250 miles to the east; the Rungwe dwarf galago, a newly-identified primate species in genus Galagoides, is found on Mt. Rungwe and nearby portions of the Poroto and Kipengere mountains, it inhabits montane bamboo forests. Much of the mountain was listed as a Catchment Forest in 1949. In 2009 the reserve was upgraded to a Nature Forest Reserve to improve its conservation. Tanzania National Website Birdlife.org: Factsheet Southern Highlands Conservation Programme

Aforia hypomela

Aforia hypomela is a species of sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusc in the family Cochlespiridae. The length of the shell attains 59 mm; the thin shell has a fusiform shape. Its color is white with a thin straw-colored epidermis; the 1½ whorls in the protoconch are white and vitreous, nearly smooth with faint spiral lines and lines of growth. The seven whorls of the teleoconch are spirally sculptured with a moderate angulation just behind the periphery of the body whorl, which becomes sharper and peripheral on the earlier whorls. In front of this, the whorls are ornamented with numerous rounded threads, separated by much wider somewhat channelled interspaces. On the upper whorls there are 3-6 of these threads, on the body whorl they extend to the anterior end of the siphonal canal, becoming more crowded anteriorly. Behind the carina the shell is smoother, there are faint spirals, hardly raised, sparser over the centre of the fasciole than on each side of it. There is no distinct secondary striation.

The transverse sculpture consists of faint incremental lines, which rise more or less into little wrinkles at the suture, sometimes undulate the peripheral angulation on the apical whorls. The suture is distinct; the whorls are moderately full. The aperture is ovate; the siphonal canal is not wide. The thin, simple columella is so twisted as to form a pervious coil extending the whole length of the axis; the outer lip is thin, modified by the sculpture The notch is wide, half-way between the suture and the carina. The outer lip arched forward; this marine species is found in European waters off the British Isles, in the Atlantic Ocean off West Africa and the Sargasso Sea, in the Caribbean Sea off Cuba.
