Pascal Hervé is a former French road racing cyclist. He competed in the individual road race at the 1992 Summer Olympics and raced as a professional from 1994 to 2001. Pascal now lives in Montreal, were he is co-owner of a training center that helps develop local athletes and amateurs of all ages. In between seasons, he holds cycling trips in various locations such as the Pyrénées, the Vosges, the Alpes and, most recently, the region of Charlevoix.

The 1998 Tour de France was the 85th edition of the Tour de France, one of cycling's Grand Tours. The 3,875 km (2,408 mi) race was composed of 21 stages and a prologue. It started on 11 July in Ireland before taking an anti-clockwise route through France to finish in Paris on 2 August. Marco Pantani of Mercatone Uno–Bianchi won the overall general classification, with Team Telekom's Jan Ullrich, the defending champion, and Cofidis rider Bobby Julich finishing on the podium in second and third respectively.
Trinity College Dublin in Ireland hosted the team presentation ceremony on 10 July.
Jan Ullrich (pictured during the 1997 Tour) was considered the main favourite for the general classification.
The Col du Galibier Alpine pass on stage 15 was the highest point reached in the Tour at 2,645 m (8,678 ft).
Richard Virenque (pictured in 1993), the leader of the Festina–Lotus team, which was expelled from the Tour after stage 6 following its management's admission to doping.
