Sean Thomas Casey, nicknamed "the Mayor", is an American former professional baseball first baseman and coach. He was the hitting coach for the New York Yankees of Major League Baseball (MLB) in 2023. He played in MLB for the Cleveland Indians, Cincinnati Reds, Pittsburgh Pirates, Detroit Tigers, and Boston Red Sox. Casey was selected to the MLB All-Star Game three times during his career. He was a broadcaster and commentator for the MLB Network.

A first baseman, abbreviated 1B, is the player on a baseball or softball team who fields the area nearest first base, the first of four bases a baserunner must touch in succession to score a run. The first baseman is responsible for the majority of plays made at that base. In the numbering system used to record defensive plays, the first baseman is assigned the number 3.
