Sylvester Groth (born 31 March 1958) is a German film actor and tenor.

His first major film role was in 1983 in the East German Film The Turning Point. He is best known to English language audiences for appearing in Quentin Tarantino's 2009 film Inglourious Basterds, in which he portrayed Nazi Minister of Propaganda Joseph Goebbels.[1] Groth did portray Goebbels before in the 2007 German comedy Mein Führer – Die wirklich wahrste Wahrheit über Adolf Hitler, directed by Dani Levy.

He also appears in the opening scene of the third season of Fargo.
