Video[edit]

Is it legal to link the movie itself? Is the movie itself freely distributable?

  • But is the dvd a liveboot distribution which can play itself? (a recursive dvd!) -- Sy / (talk)
No, the author of the film asked not to distribute copies of it. --Anthony Ivanoff 28 June 2005 03:56 (UTC)
It doesn't matter if we have a link to the movie, as long as the movie is not on Wikipedia... if for some reasons there is a copyright infringement on the movie, then it will be taken off that site and nothing will happen to us. Cbrown1023 17:41, 23 September 2006 (UTC)
Wikipedia:Copyrights says "However, if you know that an external Web site is carrying a work in violation of the creator's copyright, do not link to that copy of the work. Knowingly and intentionally directing others to a site that violates copyright has been considered a form of contributory infringement in the United States". a shame[edit]

i think it's a shame that a movie about free software is itself copyrighted even after 4 years!!

is the interviews freely avaliable?

Free software is also copyrighted, which is vital to its success. Superm401 - Talk 06:05, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
It's not open or "Free" content either. Which is rather obviously the original poster's point if you care to be a little less pedantic. —Pengo talk · contribs 07:19, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

Red links[edit]

Resolved

The main red links at this point are links to various film festivals. Many of these festivals are red-linked from elsewhere too (e.g., Film festivals in North and Central America). It seems to mainly represent a lack of coverage on Wikipedia's part of various (smaller) film festivals. I don't think any of these red links need to be removed from this article, and therefore propose removing the "redlinks" tag. --Erik Demaine 20:44, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

redlinks tag? —Pengo 23:53, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
I agree. done. Sverdrup❞ 11:03, 24 May 2006 (UTC)
