The Hunger Games (film series)

The Hunger Games consists of four science fiction dystopian adventure films based on The Hunger Games trilogy of novels, by the American author Suzanne Collins. Distributed by Lionsgate and produced by Nina Jacobson and Jon Kilik, it stars Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen, Josh Hutcherson as Peeta Mellark, Liam Hemsworth as Gale Hawthorne, Woody Harrelson as Haymitch Abernathy, Elizabeth Banks as Effie Trinket, Stanley Tucci as Caesar Flickerman, Donald Sutherland as President Snow. Gary Ross directed the first film; the first three films set records at the box office. The Hunger Games set records for the opening day and the biggest opening weekend for a non-sequel film; the Hunger Games: Catching Fire set the record for biggest opening weekend of November. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 had the largest opening day and weekend of 2014; the films, including The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2, received a positive reception, with praise for the themes and messages, as well as Jennifer Lawrence's performance.

The Hunger Games is the 21st-highest-grossing film franchise of all time, having grossed over US$2.97 billion worldwide. Following the release of Suzanne Collins's novel The Hunger Games, on September 14, 2008, Hollywood film studios began looking to adapt the book into film. In March 2009, Color Force, an independent studio founded by producer Nina Jacobson, bought the film rights to the book, she sought out production company Lionsgate to help her produce the film. Collins was attached to adapt the novel; the search for a director began in 2010 with three directors in the running. Ross was chosen to direct. By the time Collins had finished the script, Ross decided to go through the script with Collins and screenwriter Billy Ray. In October 2010, scripts were sent to the actors, casting occurred between March and May 2011; the first role cast was of Katniss Everdeen. As many as 30 actresses were in talks to play the part, with Jennifer Lawrence, Hailee Steinfeld, Abigail Breslin, Chloë Grace Moretz being mentioned most.

The role was given to Lawrence. The roles of Peeta Mellark, Katniss' fellow tribute, Gale Hawthorne, her best friend, began casting that month. Top contenders for Peeta included Josh Hutcherson, Alexander Ludwig, Hunter Parrish, Evan Peters, Lucas Till. Contenders for Gale included Robbie Amell, Liam Hemsworth, David Henrie, Drew Roy. On April 4, it was reported that Hemsworth had been cast as Gale, Hutcherson had been cast as Peeta; every year, in the ruins of what was once North America, the Capitol of the nation of Panem forces each of the 12 districts to send a boy and girl tribute between the ages of 12 and 18, to compete in the Hunger Games: a nationally televised event in which the'tributes' fight each other to the death until one survivor remains. When Primrose Everdeen is'reaped', her older sister Katniss Everdeen volunteers in her place to enter the games and is forced to rely upon her sharp instincts when she's pitted against highly-trained tributes from all of the other districts and has to think quick on her feet to survive and not die.

Along with fellow District 12 victor Peeta Mellark, Katniss Everdeen returns home safely after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games. Winning means that they must leave their loved ones behind and embark on a Victory Tour throughout the districts for a couple of days. Along the way Katniss senses a rebellion simmering upon the capitol - one that she and Peeta may have sparked - but the Capitol is still in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Hunger Games - the Third Quarter Quell - that could change Panem forever. Past victors will be reaped in the 75th Hunger Games the Third Quarter Quell. Following her rescue from the devastating Quarter Quell, Katniss Everdeen awakes in the complex beneath the destroyed District 13, her home, District 12, has been reduced to rubble by the Capitol. Peeta Mellark was kidnapped by the Capitol and is now brainwashed and being held captive by President Snow. Snow wants Peeta to forget everything. At the same time, Katniss learns about a secret rebellion spreading throughout all of Panem a rebellion that will place her at the center of attention and she will have to turn the tables on President Snow.

Realizing the stakes are no longer just for survival, Katniss Everdeen teams up with her closest friends, including Peeta Mallark, Gale Hawthorne and Finnick Odair for the ultimate mission to gain peace. Together, they leave District 13 to liberate the citizens of war; that has torn Panem apart more than it has been. President Snow, who's obsessed with destroying Katniss Everdeen and everyone and everything she loves. What lies ahead are mortal traps, dangerous enemies and moral choices that will determine the future of millions of people. On August 8, 2017, Variety reported that Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer has interest in having spinoffs made for The Hunger Games, wants to create a writers room to explore the idea; when asked about the idea of Hunger Games spinoffs, Jennifer Lawrence said "I think. They've got to let the body get cold, in my opinion."On June 17, 2019, Joe Drake, Chairman of the Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, announced in an interview that the company is communicating and working with Suzanne Collins with regards to an adaptation of her upcoming prequel Hunger Games novel set to release on May 19, 2020, the premise based on the failed rebellion 74 years before The Hunger Games trilogy.

Linos Chrysikopoulos

Linos-Spyridon Chrysikopoulos is a Greek professional basketball player for AEK Athens of the Greek Basket League and the Basketball Champions League. He is 6'10" tall and 225 lb.. He can play at either the small forward or power forward positions, with power forward being his main position, he can be utilized as a point forward. His nickname is Spider-Man. Born in Corfu, Chrysikopoulos began his professional career during the 2008–09 season, with the Greek League club Aris Thessaloniki, stayed there for three seasons. On July 13, 2011, he moved to the Italian League club Biella, he was released by Biella in January 2013. After leaving Biella, he joined the Greek League club PAOK, he moved the Greek club KAOD. He signed with Nea Kifissia on August 16, 2015, he returned to PAOK in 2016. On August 24, 2019, Chrysikopoulos signed a three-year deal with AEK Athens. Chrysikopoulos was a member of the Greek junior national teams, he played at the 2008 FIBA Europe Under-16 Championship, the 2009 FIBA Europe Under-18 Championship, the 2010 FIBA Europe Under-18 Championship, the 2011 FIBA Europe Under-20 Championship.

He has been a member of the senior men's Greek national basketball team. He played at the 2019 FIBA World Cup qualification. Chrysikopoulos is 6'10" in height in shoes, with a 7'1" wingspan, he can defend multiple positions, he can run a team's offense if necessary, being utilized as a point forward. Joey Sindelar

Joseph Paul Sindelar is an American professional golfer who plays on the Champions Tour. Sindelar was born in Fort Knox, while his father was serving in the Army, but has lived in New York for most of his life, he was high school golf rival of fellow PGA Tour player Mike Hulbert. Sindelar attended the Ohio State University in Columbus and while there was a distinguished member of the school's golf team, he was a three-time All-American, member of the 1979 NCAA Championship team, Ohio State's Athlete of the Year in 1981. He was inducted into the Ohio State Varsity O Hall of Fame in 1992. Sindelar turned pro in 1981, he won seven PGA Tour events, was one of the most consistent players on the Tour with more than 80 top-10 finishes in his career. He played on the 1991 World Cup team, his best finish in a major was T6 at the 1992 U. S. Open. In 1988, Sindelar had ten top-10 finishes including two victories: The International and the Honda Classic. In 2006, he scored a double eagle, in the PGA Championship — only the third time such a score had been recorded in that competition's history.

Since turning 50 in March 2008, Sindelar has played on the Champions Tour where he has over 30 top-10 finishes in 2008 including four second-place finishes with a playoff loss at the 2010 Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf.
