The 10 Hours of Messina was a sports car race, organized by the Automobile Club d'Italia, held for the first time on 24 August 1952 in the street circuit of Messina, Italy. From 1959 it was replaced by Messina Grand Prix.

The American 1961 Formula One world champion Phil Hill won the race in 1956 driving a Ferrari.
Eugenio Castellotti was a racing driver from Italy. He won the 1956 Mille Miglia and 1956 12 Hours of Sebring, and took several Formula One World Championship podiums. His career was cut short by a fatal testing accident at Modena in 1957. He was nicknamed "Il Bello".

Eugenio Castellotti in his 1950 Ferrari 166 MM Touring Barchetta s/n 0058M with co-driver Sandro Matranga at Coppa della Toscana on 3 June 1951 as entry #12.48 where they ended in 8th place overall.
