Alonso attacked Vettel after the first safety car period (shortly after the safety car came in). Although it had not rained at this stage of the race, the track was still wet from earlier rain and the spray impaired drivers' visibility.
After his collision with Button and the pitwall, Hamilton tried to keep his car going but was forced to stop beside the track.
