The Porsche Panamera is an executive car manufactured by the German automobile manufacturer Porsche. It is front-engined and has a rear-wheel-drive layout, with all-wheel drive versions available, it is the only sedan manufactured by Porsche as part of its strategy of expanding its market. The production version of the Porsche Panamera was unveiled at the 13th Auto Shanghai International Automobile Show in Shanghai, China, on April 2009. In 2011, hybrid and diesel versions were launched. In April 2013, a facelift to the Panamera was announced, making its debut again at the Shanghai Auto Show. A plug-in hybrid version, the Panamera S E-Hybrid, was released in the U. S. market in November 2013. The Panamera range received a re-design in 2016; the Panamera's name is derived, like the Porsche Carrera lineage, from the Carrera Panamericana race. The Panamera is considered to be the long-awaited fruit of Porsche's 989 concept vehicle from the late 1980s. Like the Porsche Cayenne SUV, the Panamera upset many Porsche purists, since it was seen as an attempt to broaden Porsche's appeal beyond that of hardcore fans.
The Panamera ran contrary to the company's signature offerings its light two-door rear-engine sports cars like the 911. The Panamera on the other hand is considered a full-size luxury car, weighing nearly 4,000 pounds, with four doors, its engine mounted in the front; the Panamera's appearance with its long hood and rear hatch bears resemblance to a stretched 911. The 911 has a sparse interior, as it was focused on raw performance, while the Panamera has a sumptuous interior loaded with modern technological amenities and expensive leather upholstery. Engines are first assembled in Stuttgart, the car's body is built and assembled in Leipzig, alongside the Cayenne and Macan. From 2009 to 2016, the bodies were built at the Volkswagen Group facility in Hannover. Production began in April one month after its debut in the Shanghai Motor Show in China; the V8-powered Panamera S, 4S, Turbo models were the first versions that debuted in 2009. In addition to the 4.8L Twin Turbo 507 PS V8 powered models, Porsche launched two further models in 2010: the Panamera and Panamera 4 which are both powered by 3.0-litre and 3.6-litre V6 engines producing 304 PS.
Being derived from the V8 engine of the Panamera S and Panamera 4S, the V6 retains the V8's technologies like Direct Fuel Injection, infinitely variable intake camshaft adjustment with variable valve lift, an on-demand oil pump, water cooling with thermal management, a variable intake manifold, as well as integrated dry sump lubrication with two-stage extraction of oil, an Auto Start-Stop function. Turbo version uses active aerodynamics with a adjustable rear spoiler. Optional Sports Chrono Packages include a Sport Plus button, which has tighter damping and air springs, lowers the car's body by 25 mm. In 2011, the Panamera S Hybrid, Turbo S, GTS variants were added to the range; the GTS achieves a lateral acceleration of 0.96g. The Panamera, S, Hybrid and Diesel models are rear-wheel drive, while the Panamera 4, 4S, GTS have the same four-wheel drive system as the Turbo and Turbo S, called Porsche Traction Management; the Panamera featured Adaptive air suspension, the Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control, active anti-roll bars and the Porsche Active Suspension Management.
The newly introduced ZF 7-speed PDK dual clutch transmission was standard on the Panamera 4, 4S and Turbo models. The addition of the optional sport chrono package provided faster acceleration times. In some markets a 6-speed manual was available for rear-wheel drive petrol versions; the S Hybrid and Diesel models had an Aisin-supplied eight-speed automatic transmission called the Tiptronic S. The engine of the Panamera Turbo S features larger turbochargers than the standard Panamera Turbo’s 4.8-litre V8, as well as high-pressure fuel injection, aluminium-alloy pistons. The piston rings are coated in a low-friction surface to help eke out more performance; the Panamera Turbo S accelerates to 62 mph in 3.8 seconds with launch control engaged. Roll-on acceleration should be more impressive, changes to the PDK gearbox allow for faster gearshifts, the alleged 27.7mpg fuel economy is no worse than the less powerful Panamera Turbo. Drag Coefficient: 0.30 0–60 mph: 3.2 seconds 0–100 mph: 7.2 seconds 1/4 mile: 11.5 seconds at 127 mph Braking 70 mph to 0 mph: 135 feet In 2008, Porsche AG announced the development of a parallel hybrid system for the Panamera, in February 2011, Porsche unveiled the Panamera S Hybrid.
Using the same drivetrain seen in the Cayenne S Hybrid—an Audi-sourced supercharged 3.0-litre V6 engine producing 333 PS along with an electric motor rated at 47 PS, as well as the Cayenne's 8-speed Tiptronic S transmission—the 380 PS Panamera S Hybrid could accelerate from 0–62 mph in 6.0 seconds. The Panamera S Hybrid produced only 193 grams of carbon dioxide per kilometre, rendering it the most environment friendly car in the entire Porsche model range, while still maintaining a top speed of 167.8 mph. Deliveries began in the United States in 2011, cumulative sales reached 684 units through March 2013; the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency rated the fuel economy for the 2013/2012 model year Panamera Hybrid at 22 mpg‑US for city driving, 30 mpg‑US for highway, 25 mpg‑US combined; the Panamera Diesel was launched in May 2011
The Lexus LF line is a series of concept cars built by Lexus, the luxury vehicle division of Toyota Motor Corporation. The "LF" designation refers to Lexus Future; the LF Series vehicles features coupes/convertibles, including: the LF-A, the LF-A Roadster, LF-LC, LF-CC, the LF-C. The first concept vehicle of the LF Series, the LF-X, appeared in 2003; the LF Series utilizes L-finesse, a design philosophy named for "Leading Edge" and "finesse", which debuted on the LF Series concepts and extended to all new production Lexus vehicles. New vehicle technologies on the LF Series include advanced instrumentation, multiple driver-selected vehicle configurations and experimental powertrains, unconventional driver interface designs; the vehicles feature new design cues which derive from the L-finesse design language of "Intriguing Elegance", "Incisive Simplicity", "Seamless Anticipation". Several of the LF concept vehicles have appeared close to their production counterparts, while the design cues of other LF concepts appeared on more distinctly different production vehicles.
The LF-A is a 2-door exotic concept car built as a prospective halo car for the Lexus division. Three versions have been shown, the first of which debuted at the 2005 North American International Auto Show; the designation stands for Lexus Future-Advance. The first concept was about five inches shorter than the Porsche 911 Turbo with a wheelbase about nine inches longer, was nearly 48 inches in height about equal to the Ferrari F430 with a width of 73.2 in. It was powered by a V10 engine displacing 4.8 liters, generating over 550 hp and had a top speed around 208 mph. To maintain a near ideal weight distribution a rear transaxle is used and the radiators are mounted at the rear. A second revised version with a more furnished interior and exterior was unveiled two years at the 2007 NAIAS as a possible future member of the Lexus F marque performance lineup; the interior gauges revealed a 9,000 RPM redline, however news reports speculated that it might not make the production version. The third version of the LF-A concept, a roadster model, premiered in 2008.
Reports in 2006 indicated. Prototypes of the LF-A had been spotted undergoing testing at Nürburgring since October 2004, the famous motorsport race track in Nürburg, Germany. Numerous test vehicles have been equipped with automatic retractable rear wings, carbon ceramic brake discs; the production vehicles were expected to carry V10 engines, putting the car in market competition with the Lamborghini Gallardo, Ferrari F430, the Porsche 911, the Chevrolet Corvette C6 ZR1. Pricing was estimated at over $225,000, close to $400,000. In December 2007, Auto Express reported that the LF-A had set an unofficial 7:24 lap record at the Nürburgring; the production $375,000 Lexus LFA supercar debuted in 2009. Designated LF-AR or LF-A Roadster, the roadster version of the LF-A concept car was first displayed at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit on January 13, 2008. Derived from the LF-A, the designation stands for Lexus Future-Advance Roadster. Initial specifications for the roadster are a V10 engine under 5.0 L with over 500 hp and a top speed of over 200 mph.
The LF-A Roadster was revealed to have a retractable rear spoiler for improved handling at speed. The LF-A Roadster show model featured side cameras in place of standard mirrors, a two-tone interior; the model was designated with "F" badges indicating its place as a member of the Lexus F performance division. After its debut at the 2008 North American International Auto Show, the LF-A Roadster was shown at the 2008 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, the 2008 Geneva Motor Show, the United States Open Championship tournament, at Lexus exhibits in Japan. On August 12, 2009, news reports suggested that the LF-A would be released as the LF-L, with the change in name from A to L to signify its appearances at Le Mans and to draw on its pre-production racing development. However, a production non-convertible designated LFA premiered in October 2009; the LF-C is a concept car. This concept featured a retractable hardtop design which allowed for coupe, targa, or speedster configurations via a four-position glass roof.
The designation stands for Lexus Future-Coupe. The LF-C is fitted with rear-wheel drive. Unique features included a one-touch activation button, crystal LED taillamps, suede bucket seats, a 3D instrument panel, drive-by-wire, a translucent crystal center console with blue backlighting; the LF-C featured retractable rear-view cameras in place of side mirrors on the doors and rear bumper. The design choices shown in the LF-C hinted at a convertible version of the IS 250/350. Design cues from the LF-C in the front fascia, appeared in production form with the debut of the second generation Lexus IS; the LF-C concept measured 178.7 in long, 73.0 in wide, 53.5 in in height, with a wheelbase of 110.0 in. The LF-C2 is a concept car; the LF-Ch is a concept four-door hatchback Lexus unveiled in September 2009 at the Frankfurt International Motor Show. The designation refers to Lexus Future-Compact hybrid; the LF-Ch exterior featured a more aggressive interpretation of the L-finesse design language, with an arching roofline, rear spoiler, single-bar grille.
The rear door handles were integrated into the C-pillar window trim. The concept was equipped with a hybrid 2.4

The Audi A3 is a small family/subcompact executive car manufactured and marketed since 1996 by the Audi subdivision of the Volkswagen Group, now in its third generation. The first two generations of A3 were based on the Volkswagen Group A platform, which they share with the Audi TT, Volkswagen Golf, Volkswagen Caddy, Volkswagen Touran, as well as SEAT León, SEAT Toledo, Škoda Octavia; the third-generation A3 uses the Volkswagen Group MQB platform. The original A3 was introduced in the European market in 1996, marking Audi's return to the production of smaller cars following the demise of the Audi 50 in 1978; this was the first Volkswagen Group model to use the "PQ34" or "A4" platform, bearing a close resemblance to the contemporary Volkswagen Golf Mk4, which arrived a year later. Within three years, this platform was used for total of seven cars; the A3 was available only with a three-door hatchback body, to present a more sporty image than the Golf, in both front and four-wheel drive. The inline four-cylinder engines were transversely mounted.
After the A4, the Audi A3 was the second model in the Audi lineup to use five valves per cylinder. The United Kingdom market first received the Audi A3 in November 1996. In 1999, Audi expanded the range with the introduction of more powerful versions: a 1.8 turbo rated 180 PS, a 1.9 TDI diesel engine with unit injector "Pumpe Düse" technology and variable geometry turbocharger. The four-wheel-drive A3 1.8T quattro used either the 150 PS or 180 PS engine, the same Haldex Traction-based four-wheel-drive system as the Audi S3 and the Audi TT. In 1999, Audi introduced a five-door body. In late 2000, the A3 range was revised with new headlights and rear lamps, other minor cosmetic changes, an improved interior, the introduction of a six-speed manual gearbox, on the 180 PS 1.8 Turbo and the new 130 PS 1.9 TDI. Audi's electronic stability control, traction-control, brake force distribution computer became standard equipment in some countries. Although the first-generation Audi A3 was replaced in Europe in 2003, the first generation model continued to be sold in some markets.
Production of the first generation model stopped in Brazil in 2006. Euro NCAP rating of 4 out of 5 stars, their evaluation concluded "the column lock, adjuster lever and bracket presented hazards in the knee impact area for the driver. These could cause high loads on his upper legs and damage to his knees." The A3 provides no protection to pedestrians, giving it two stars out of a possible four. Audi released the A3-derived Audi S3 in 1999, only as a three-door hatchback; the inline-four 20v 1.8 L turbocharged petrol engine came in two versions: 210 PS and 225 PS. Early models had 210 PS. Models had variable valve timing and 225 PS; the engine had a maximum of 280 N⋅m torque. This was the first time. Although dubbed "quattro", the S3 uses a different four-wheel drive system; the Haldex Traction coupling adjusts the bias of torque distribution from the front to rear axle as grip requirements change – most of the time it operates as a front-wheel drive. The S3 was sold in Europe, Mexico, South Africa and New Zealand.
The S3 was given a facelift in 2002, where it was given one-piece headlights/indicator units, different front wings, rear lights clusters, some minor upgrades to interior trim. Standard features include xenon HID headlamps with high pressure washers and auto levelers, front fog lamps, 17" "Avus" alloy wheels with 225/45R17 tyres, electrically adjustable Recaro leather seats, climate control and electronic stability control with traction control. Options include a Bose sound system, boot/trunk or in-dash mounted 6-disc CD changer, metallic paint, 18-inch 9-spoke RSTT wheels, glass sunroof, centre arm rest, privacy glass, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, parking assist, luggage net, heated front seats, cruise control, aluminium door mirror casings and part leather/Alcantara combination seat coverings; these items are standard in some export markets. The engines used are the same as those for many other cars in the Volkswagen Group. At the 2003 Geneva Motor Show, Audi launched the second generation of the A3, the Typ 8P, designed by Gary Telaak during 2000.
Launched only as a three-door hatchback with four-cylinder engines, it featured a new automobile platform, a redesigned and more spacious interior, new petrol engines with Fuel Stratified Injection, standard six-speed manual gearboxes. In mid-2003, the line was updated with two sports-oriented models, a 2.0 Turbo-FSI version rated 200 PS, a 3.2 L VR6 engine with 250 PS. Haldex Traction-based quattro on-demand four-wheel drive, the S-Tronic semi-auto gearbox were introduced as options on models with engines over 140 PS. In 2005, the "S line" trim level, offering new decorative elements, became available and the three-door A3 received the same front end styling features as the Sportback model. For the first time, the A3 became available in the North American market with the Sportback body, with the base 2.0 inline-four TFSI introduced in 2005 as a 2006 model, the 3.2 VR6 quattro following. The five-door "Sportback" model was introduced in June 2004; the A3 Sportback is 80 mm longer than the base three-door body, includes improved rear cabin space and a larger luggage compartm
