Contested over 269 laps – extended from 267 laps with a green-white-checker finish – on the 1.5 mile intermediate speedway, it was the 31st race of the 2015 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season, fifth race of the Chase and second race of the Contender Round. Joey Logano won the race, his fifth of the season. Denny Hamlin finished second. Jimmie Johnson, Kasey Kahne and Kyle Busch rounded out the top–five.
