The 2015 Russian Grand Prix was a Formula One motor race that took place on 11 October 2015. The fifty-three lap race was held at the Sochi Autodrom. This was the fifteenth round of the 2015 season and marked the second time that the Russian Grand Prix was run as a round of the Formula One World Championship since its inception in 1950.
Roberto Merhi returned to Marussia for the race.
Carlos Sainz Jr. had a bad accident in the third practice session.
Nico Rosberg claimed pole position, but later retired from the race.
Valtteri Bottas qualified third but retired after a collision on the last lap.
2015 Formula One World Championship
The 2015 FIA Formula One World Championship was a motor racing championship for Formula One cars. It was the 66th Formula One World Championship recognised by the sport's governing body, the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), as the highest class of competition for open-wheel racing cars. Twenty-two drivers representing 10 teams contested 19 Grands Prix, starting in Australia on 15 March and ending in Abu Dhabi on 29 November as they competed for the World Drivers' and World Constructors' championships.
