The 2016–17 Quinnipiac Bobcats men's basketball team represented Quinnipiac University during the 2016–17 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Bobcats, led by 10th year head coach Tom Moore, played their home games at the TD Bank Sports Center in Hamden, Connecticut as members of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. They finished the season 10–21, 7–13 in MAAC play to finish in eighth place. They lost in the first round of the MAAC tournament to Niagara.

Tom Moore is an Assistant Head Coach at the University of Connecticut. He previously served as an assistant from 1994 to 2007 under Huskies' Hall of Fame and three-time NCAA Championship coach Jim Calhoun. Moore is also the former head men's basketball coach at Quinnipiac University, taking over the position vacated by Joe DeSantis in 2007 after 13 years at the University of Connecticut and five seasons of previous head coaching experience at Worcester State College. Moore is a 1983 graduate of Saint Johns Shrewsbury and is a 1987 graduate of Boston University.
