The 2020 WTA Tour was the elite professional tennis circuit organised by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) for the 2020 tennis season. The 2020 WTA Tour calendar originally comprised the Grand Slam tournaments supervised by the International Tennis Federation (ITF), the WTA Premier tournaments, the WTA International tournaments, the Fed Cup, and the year-end championships.
Ashleigh Barty finished the year as WTA world No. 1 for the second time in her career, though Sofia Kenin was named the Player of the Year. Barty won one tournament during the season. Kenin won three tournaments during the season, including a major at the Australian Open, and finished runner-up at another major, the French Open.

Sofia Anna "Sonya" Kenin is an American professional tennis player. She has a career-high ranking by the WTA of No. 4 in the world, which she achieved on March 9, 2020. She was the 2020 WTA Player of the Year, an award she earned by winning the 2020 Australian Open and finishing runner-up at the 2020 French Open. Kenin has won another four singles and four doubles titles on the WTA Tour, including the 2019 China Open and 2024 Miami Open at the WTA 1000-level with Bethanie Mattek-Sands.
