Yann Martel, author of the book Life of Pi, gave positive feedback upon seeing the film.
It was alleged that "Pi's Lullaby", performed and co-written by Bombay Jayashri (pictured, December 2017), used compositions by Irayimman Thampi. Jayashri denied this.
