The 99th Regiment of Foot was an infantry regiment of the British Army, formed in 1824. It amalgamated with the 62nd Regiment of Foot to form the Duke of Edinburgh's in 1881.

A memorial erected by the 99th Regiment of Foot at Anglesea Barracks, Hobart to commemorate the soldiers of the regiment killed during the New Zealand Wars. This is the only monument built by British soldiers in Australia to commemorate their casualties.

The Battle Hill engagement took place from 6 to 13 August 1846, during the New Zealand Wars and was one of the last engagements of the Hutt Valley Campaign.
