Alexander John Gervase Chalk is a British politician and barrister serving as Lord Chancellor and Secretary of State for Justice since April 2023. A member of the Conservative Party, he was elected Member of Parliament (MP) for Cheltenham in 2015. Chalk has previously served in other positions in the Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Defence, and as Solicitor General for England and Wales.

The secretary of state for justice is a secretary of state in the Government of the United Kingdom, with responsibility for the Ministry of Justice. The incumbent is a member of the Cabinet of the United Kingdom. Since the office's inception, the incumbent has concurrently been appointed Lord Chancellor.
