Aqua Teen Hunger Force

Aqua Teen Hunger Force is an American adult animated television series created by Dave Willis and Matt Maiellaro for Cartoon Network's late night programming block, Adult Swim. It is about the surreal adventures and antics of three anthropomorphic fast food items: Master Shake and Meatwad, who live together as relatives and interact with their human next-door neighbor, Carl Brutananadilewski, it was created as a spin-off series of Space Ghost Coast to Coast. The unannounced pilot episode, "Rabbot", aired on Cartoon Network on December 30, 2000; every episode was written and directed by Willis and Maiellaro, who provided several voices. Seasons 8–11 were each given a different alternative title, accompanied by a different theme music, as a running joke; the series ended on August 2015, with a total of 139 episodes over the course of 11 seasons. Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters, a film adaptation of the series, was released in theaters on April 13, 2007, the first adaptation of an Adult Swim series into a feature-length film.

The series airs in broadcast syndication outside the United States and has been released on various DVD sets and other forms of home media, including video on demand streaming. It was the longest-running Adult Swim series. Squidbillies, Robot Chicken; the series centers on the surreal adventures and antics of three anthropomorphic fast food items: Master Shake, a selfish, pathologically lying milkshake. They live together as relatives, get along with their human neighbor Carl Brutananadilewski, a balding, middle-aged, sex-crazed sports fanatic; the protagonists interact with various villains or other individuals in each episode. Some episodes feature the protagonists interacting with celebrities, historical figures, or professional athletes; the Mooninites are two aliens from the Moon who appear, serving as primary antagonists and wreaking havoc through a series of illegal or destructive actions. The Mooninites appear more than most characters outside the main cast. Other recurring characters have made several appearances, including Oglethorpe and Emory, MC Pee Pants, Cybernetic Ghost of Christmas Past from the Future, Dr. Wongburger.

Episodes end with the non-canonical deaths or injuries of major characters, or destruction to their property, only to be restored without explanation in the following episode. In the show's first seven seasons, the protagonists live in a suburban neighborhood in South New Jersey. During the eighth season, the location was changed to Washington; the Seattle neighborhood appears identical to the protagonists' neighborhood from the first seven seasons, but each episode begins with the caption "Seattle" on the bottom of the screen. As of the ninth season, the same neighborhood is in the fictional location of New Jersey; the three main characters—Master Shake and Meatwad—were created for an episode of Space Ghost Coast to Coast called "Baffler Meal", where they were the corporate mascots for the fictional fast-food chain "Burger Trench". The original versions of the trio were prototypes that resembled the future characters, but both Master Shake and Frylock differed in appearance and voice from their ultimate design.

The original name "Teen Hunger Force" refers to the squad's mission to conquer hunger in teens."Baffler Meal" went through a number of drafts but was not animated or produced until after the series became popular. Instead, the Space Ghost episode was rewritten as "Kentucky Nightmare", while the trio, along with Carl Brutananadilewski, debuted in "Rabbot", the pilot episode of Aqua Teen Hunger Force. A full season consisting of 16 episodes, including "Rabbot", was put into production shortly thereafter; the series was one of Adult Swim's most popular shows. In early episodes, the trio were identified by Master Shake as the Aqua Teen Hunger Force, which solved crimes for money. After a few episodes, this premise and the characters' use of the name were dropped; the premise was a trick, added to appease Cartoon Network executives, who "didn't want to air a show about food just going around and doing random things". In the show, Frylock says they stopped fighting crime because "that wasn't making us a whole lot of money".

Every episode of Aqua Teen Hunger Force was written and directed by series creators Dave Willis and Matt Maiellaro and produced by Williams Street. Much of the dialogue was supplemented with improvisation by the voice talent; the show was scripted but ad libs are included in the final recordings and the shows are animated to include this improvisation. Many of the crew and cast members worked on Space Ghost Coast to Coast. In 2011, for the eighth season, the series' title was changed to Aqua Unit Patrol Squad 1. Despite the title change there were no changes to the show's characters or tone. In 2012 Maiellaro announced that each subsequent season would have a different series title, making it a running gag. Willis said the alternative titles were just an unsuccessful stunt to generate buzz; each season, branded under an alternative title features a different opening sequ

Child marriage in Pakistan

The practice of child and forced marriage is widespread and occurs in all regions of Pakistan, with the highest prevalence in the Sindh province. It disproportionately affects the girl child. Early and child marriage are directly attributable to deep-rooted gender inequalities, traditional practices, customs; the close relationship between female chastity and family honour forces family members to marry girls at an early age to prevent sexual transgressions and consequent damage to family reputation. The conceptualization of the girl child as ‘other’s property’ who has to move to her husband’s home prevents parents from investing in their daughter’s education and daughters thus are married off at an early age to relieve parents of their ‘burden'; the problem of child marriage is at times justified on the basis of religious foundations. It can be explained as a reaction to invasions by foreigners. In the case of parents, sometimes it is due to their keenness to relieve themselves of the responsibility of marrying their daughter.

They are considered acceptable for reasons of responsibility and economically desirable for saving marriage expenses, bride price/ dowry. In certain peculiar situations, it takes place under what is known as dand or bada in Sindh, vani in Punjab, swara in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the tribal areas. In this practice, an accused family gives its girl or girls in marriage to an aggrieved family to settle a blood feud between the two parties. Women and girl children who are victims of vani or swara arrangements live in a hostile environment where they are treated as daughters or relatives of the enemy. In addition to being covered by the Child Marriage Restraint Act 1929, such marriages are covered by section 310-A of the PPC, are liable to be imprisoned up to a term of seven years but not less than three years and liable to a fine of Rs 500,000. At times and girl children are deprived of their property rights by symbolically marrying them to the Quran; this ensures that the girl child will not bear children in the future and will not demand her rightful share in the family property.

Sometimes poor parents who cannot afford to marry their daughters rely on this symbolic arrangement. Section 498-C of the PPC prohibits marriage with the Quran. A person found guilty of arranging, facilitating or compelling such marriage of a female is liable imprisoned for a period extending to seven years but not less than three years and a fine of up to Rs 500,000. Exchange marriage or Watta Satta is practiced in many parts of Pakistan. In a watta satta arrangement, both families trade brides. Both families must have a daughter and a son and must be willing to betroth them to the daughter and son of the other family. Watta satta marriages put females in a precarious position as a divorce between one of the couples may trigger a divorce between the other couple because of strong sibling ties; such marriages are a crime. Section 498-B of the PPC prohibits forces marriages and makes it an offense, punishable with imprisonment extending to seven years but not less than three years and liable to a fine of Rs 500,000.

A person accused of deceitfully preventing a woman from inheriting property is punishable under section 498-A of the PPC with an imprisonment extending to ten years but not less than five years and a fine of rupees one million or both. According to UNICEF report from 2013, around 21% of the girls in Pakistan are married before the age of 18. Over the years, there has been a decline in the occurrence of child marriages but it is lower in case of females than males; the trend of child marriages has been a major cause of girls' illiteracy or lower level of education. It can damage the girls physical and social health leading to serious health issues in the future. Prenatal and maternal health problems are tied to women married before the age of 18, it is evident that child marriages are prevalent among cultivators and laborers. Dependency on elders and lack of independent occupational aspirations or occupational mobility further hampers the efforts of limiting child marriages; as a result, child marriages in the rural areas of Pakistan, continue to take place.

There are, spatial trends as indicated by different trends of distinct villages. Big farmers seem to be doing away with child marriages. Exposure to urban areas has helped in reduction of child marriage; the possibility of mismatches of marriages is high. Child wives fall ill and lots of times die which explains one of the highest maternal mortality rates in the country. Infants born to the child mothers are many times feeble; the marital lives remain unhappy and child wives lack happiness due to their life-time inability to support their lot. Many a times, the young wives become vulnerable to sexually transmitted diseases; the occurrence results in increasing the population growth rate. Child marriage in Pakistan is prohibited to an extent under the Child Marriage Restraint Act 1929

Ronald Greenwald

Ronald Greenwald was an American Orthodox Jewish rabbi, a businessman and an educator. Born in New York City, he made a career of spy trading, international hostage mediation, other forms of high-stakes, high-intrigue diplomacy, he served as presidential liaison of President Richard Nixon to the Jewish community during the Nixon administration. He served as a community activist, chaired various civic boards, directed a high school and a summer camp, was the chairman of Magenu. Ronald Greenwald was born to European Jewish immigrant parents and raised on the Lower East Side of Manhattan before his family relocated to Brownsville, he studied at Telshe Yeshiva in Cleveland after high school. After getting married, he settled in Boro Park in Brooklyn. In the early years of his marriage, he worked as a teacher of both Judaic and secular studies in Brooklyn yeshivas. Rabbi Greenwald became active in politics in 1962 lobbying on behalf of Torah Umesorah to promote the creation and success of Jewish day schools in the United States.

At the request of Jewish activist George Klein, Rabbi Greenwald became involved in the gubernatorial campaign of Nelson A. Rockefeller and helped Rockefeller win an unprecedented share of the Jewish vote for a Republican at the time. After this success, the Rockefeller campaign recommended Greenwald to the campaign of Richard M. Nixon and the Nixon re-election campaign appointed Greenwald to work for the President's 1972 re-election in the Jewish community. In winning 35% of the Jewish vote in 1972, like Rockefeller, did far better among Jewish voters than would be expected from a Republican in that era. During the Nixon administration, Rabbi Greenwald served as liaison between the administration and the Jewish community in a variety of ways, he obtained a $1 million grant to open a legal aid office in Brooklyn to assist the needy in the community of Williamsburg among other accomplishments. During the Watergate scandal, Rabbi Greenwald contacted various Democratic Jewish members of Congress, including Elizabeth Holtzman, Bella Abzug and Arlen Specter to try to convince them that impeaching the President would weaken the United States and, by extension, hurt Israel, which, in the wake of the Yom Kippur War needed the support of a strong United States.

Although his entreaties did not work, as President Nixon was forced to resign rather than face impeachment, he did earn a Presidential letter of thanks. He died in his sleep while on vacation in Florida, on January 20, 2016. Greenwald was involved in scores of release efforts for various prisoners from around the world. In his highest profile case, Rabbi Greenwald worked with Representative Benjamin Gilman and East German lawyer Wolfgang Vogel to secure the release of Soviet dissident and Refusenik Natan Sharansky from Soviet prison in the late 1970s, he made more than 25 trips across the "Iron Curtain" to East Germany as part of that effort. The Rockland Journal News reported that Rabbi Greenwald was the "man behind the talks" that freed Sharansky. In conjunction with Representative Gilman, Rabbi Greenwald negotiated the rescue a 24-year-old Israeli citizen named Miron Markus in 1978, living in Zimbabwe. Markus was captured when an airplane piloted by his brother-in-law, Jackie Bloch, was forced to land in Mozambique, where Mr. Bloch was killed and Markus taken hostage.

Rabbi Greenwald, Congressman Gilman and others arranged for a complex swap that involved four countries Mozambique, the UnS and East Germany, convicted East German spy Robert Thompson and U. S. student Alan van Norman. Granados was kidnapped by leftist guerillas in November, 1979 while at a soccer game in Guatemala City. Rabbi Greenwald, working again with Representative Gilman, helped broker the exchange of Mr. Granados in exchange for a ransom payment of $4,000,000. Vladimir Raiz, a Soviet molecular biologist, had been denied permission to leave the former Soviet Union for 18 years before Greenwald entered the picture. According to Steve Lieberman in the Rockland Journal News, Greenwald secretly met with Raiz in Lithuania in 1989. Following negotiations with Soviet authorities and his family were permitted to emigrate in 1990. Greenwald was involved in the transfer of Shabattai Kalmanovich from the USSR to Israel. However, in 1987 Kalmanovitch was arrested in Tel Aviv and charged with being a KGB spy and sentenced to nine years in prison in 1987 for spying for the Soviet Union.

He was returned to Russia. On November 2, 2009, Kalamovitch was assassinated in Moscow. In 1994, political activist and New York native Lori Berenson was arrested and sentenced to life imprisonment for treason by a Peruvian military tribunal, she was accused of belonging to a Marxist rebel group and plotting to overthrow the Peruvian government. Because of the shady circumstances surrounding her trial and her harsh sentence, Amnesty International, in 2003, referred to Berenson as a "political prisoner."With the support of President Bill Clinton in 2000, Greenwald led a delegation of American negotiators to Peru to press the Peruvian government to free Berenson or, at least, to grant her a new trial in a civilian court. The effort succeeded and Berenson was afforded a new trial in civilian court. At her subsequent trial, Berenson was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment. Greenwald was involved in many of the attempts to gain clemency for Jonathan Pollard by convincing the serving President of the United States to pardon Pollard or to commute his sentence.

Noteworthy was his effort to set up a three way trade involving Israel, the US and Russia. Under Greenwald's proposal, Israel would release Professor Marc
