Demetria Devonne Demi Lovato is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. The success of the film and its soundtrack resulted in a contract with Hollywood Records. Her debut album, Dont Forget, debuted at two on the US Billboard 200. She entered a treatment center in November 2010 to seek help for addictions, an eating disorder, while there, she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Work on her studio album, Unbroken, began after she successfully completed treatment. The album addresses several of her difficulties and its lead single, Skyscraper, became Lovatos second top 10 entry in the US, while its second single, Give Your Heart a Break, was certified triple platinum in the country. Lovato was a judge and mentor on the American version of The X Factor in 2012 and 2013 and her third album, Demi, opened with first-week sales of 110,000 copies. The lead single from her eponymous album, Heart Attack, became her third top 10 in the US, while promoting the project, Lovato released a book titled Staying Strong,365 Days a Year. She also returned to acting as a character in Glee. Lovatos fifth album, Confident, reached two on the Billboard 200. Its lead single Cool for the Summer was eventually certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. All five of Lovatos albums have received a certification in the US. Musically, Lovato is considered a pop, pop rock, in 2013, Maxim ranked her 26th on its Hot 100 list and Billboard ranked her second on its Social 50 Artists of the Year list. Outside the entertainment industry, Lovato has been involved with social and environmental causes since the launch of her career. C. She has also become an advocate for the LGBT community, in 2014, she was announced as the Grand Marshal for LA Pride week, and that same year she became the face for Human Rights Campaigns Americans for Marriage Equality Campaign. Joseph Adam Joe Jonas is an American singer and actor. Jonas first rose to fame as a member of the pop-rock band Jonas Brothers, along with his brothers Kevin, the bands debut album, Its About Time, was a commercial failure following a limited release. The group signed with Hollywood Records, and in 2007 released their eponymous studio album. The album went on to be a success for the group. The group became involved with the Disney Channel and later made their film debut in the Disney Channel Original Movie Camp Rock. The film and its soundtrack became a hit for the network. Their third studio album, A Little Bit Longer, became their first to top the Billboard 200, the albums lead single became a top five hit in the United States. Their fourth studio album, Lines, Vines and Trying Times became their second to top the charts in the United States. The brothers also starred in two of their Disney Channel series from 2009 to 2010, being JONAS L. A. and Jonas Brothers, in 2010, the group starred in Camp Rock 2, The Final Jam, reprising their roles from the original film. Joe release his debut studio album, Fastlife, in 2011, with the singles See No More. The following year, it was confirmed that the Jonas Brothers would be reuniting and the studio album was entitled V. But, in 2013, the Jonas ended the band. Following his departure from the band, Jonas began working as a songwriter for various artists and he began working on a new musical project for himself, though was unsure whether it would be his second studio album or a new project for a band. He ultimately decided to form a new band, DNCE, which made their debut with the single Cake by the Ocean, joseph Adam Jonas was born in Casa Grande, Arizona on August 15,1989. He is the son of Denise and Paul Kevin Jonas, Jonas father is a songwriter, musician, and former ordained minister at an Assemblies of God church while his mother is a former sign language teacher and singer. Joe has a brother, Kevin Jonas, and two younger brothers - Nick Jonas and Frankie Jonas. Growing up in a Christian family, Jonas has spoken on his religious beliefs by saying I believe in God, and thats a personal relationship that I have, in 2002, Joe appeared in Baz Luhrmanns production of La bohème. In 2005, Joe, Kevin, and Nick recorded Please Be Mine, upon hearing the song, the Columbia Records president Steve Greenberg decided to sign the brothers as a group. Nicholas Jerry Nick Jonas is an American singer, songwriter, producer, and actor. Jonas began acting in theater at the age of seven, and he released his eponymous debut album in 2004 to little success, though it did catch the attention of Columbia Records. Jonas opted to form a band with his brothers, Joe and Kevin. The group released their studio album Its About Time through Columbia Records. The record failed to achieve success, thus the group parted ways with their label. Their self-titled second studio album was released through Hollywood Records in 2007, the band became prominent figures on the Disney Channel during this time, gaining a large following through the network. The band starred in the successful film Camp Rock. The release of the third studio album, A Little Bit Longer, helped the band achieve further success. The release of their studio album saw a decline in sales for the band. Jonas and his brothers starred in the Disney Channel series JONAS in 2009 and 2010 and it was later confirmed that the Jonas Brothers would be taking a hiatus, with Nick forming a new band known as Nick Jonas & the Administration. The band released one album in 2010, though it failed to achieve much commercial success. Following the release, Jonas opted to focus on work in theater, the Jonas Brothers briefly reunited in 2013, though officially parted ways due to creative differences. Jonas decided to return to his music career following the bands disbandment. He signed with Island Records, releasing Nick Jonas through the label, the album entered the top ten of the Billboard 200, while both of the albums singles entered the top twenty of the Billboard Hot 100. The project was re-released as Nick Jonas X2 in 2015, the release helped provide Jonas with a new public image, earning him the title of a sex symbol. Toronto is the most populous city in Canada and the provincial capital of Ontario. With a population of 2,731,571, it is the fourth most populous city in North America after Mexico City, New York City, and Los Angeles. A global city, Toronto is a centre of business, finance, arts, and culture. Aboriginal peoples have inhabited the area now known as Toronto for thousands of years, the city itself is situated on the southern terminus of an ancient Aboriginal trail leading north to Lake Simcoe, used by the Wyandot, Iroquois, and the Mississauga. Permanent European settlement began in the 1790s, after the broadly disputed Toronto Purchase of 1787, the British established the town of York, and later designated it as the capital of Upper Canada. During the War of 1812, the town was the site of the Battle of York, York was renamed and incorporated as the city of Toronto in 1834, and became the capital of the province of Ontario during the Canadian Confederation in 1867. The city proper has since expanded past its original borders through amalgamation with surrounding municipalities at various times in its history to its current area of 630.2 km2. While the majority of Torontonians speak English as their primary language, Toronto is a prominent centre for music, theatre, motion picture production, and television production, and is home to the headquarters of Canadas major national broadcast networks and media outlets. Toronto is known for its skyscrapers and high-rise buildings, in particular the tallest free-standing structure in the Western Hemisphere. The name Toronto is likely derived from the Iroquois word tkaronto and this refers to the northern end of what is now Lake Simcoe, where the Huron had planted tree saplings to corral fish. A portage route from Lake Ontario to Lake Huron running through this point, in the 1660s, the Iroquois established two villages within what is today Toronto, Ganatsekwyagon on the banks of the Rouge River and Teiaiagonon the banks of the Humber River. By 1701, the Mississauga had displaced the Iroquois, who abandoned the Toronto area at the end of the Beaver Wars, French traders founded Fort Rouillé on the current Exhibition grounds in 1750, but abandoned it in 1759. During the American Revolutionary War, the region saw an influx of British settlers as United Empire Loyalists fled for the British-controlled lands north of Lake Ontario, the new province of Upper Canada was in the process of creation and needed a capital. Dorchester intended the location to be named Toronto, in 1793, Governor John Graves Simcoe established the town of York on the Toronto Purchase lands, instead naming it after Prince Frederick, Duke of York and Albany. Simcoe decided to move the Upper Canada capital from Newark to York, the York garrison was constructed at the entrance of the towns natural harbour, sheltered by a long sandbar peninsula. The towns settlement formed at the end of the harbour behind the peninsula, near the present-day intersection of Parliament Street. In 1813, as part of the War of 1812, the Battle of York ended in the towns capture, the surrender of the town was negotiated by John Strachan. US soldiers destroyed much of the garrison and set fire to the parliament buildings during their five-day occupation, the sacking of York was a primary motivation for the Burning of Washington by British troops later in the war

Ontario, one of the 13 provinces and territories of Canada, is located in east-central Canada. It is Canadas most populous province by a margin, accounting for nearly 40 percent of all Canadians. Ontario is fourth-largest in total area when the territories of the Northwest Territories and it is home to the nations capital city, Ottawa, and the nations most populous city, Toronto. There is only about 1 km of land made up of portages including Height of Land Portage on the Minnesota border. Ontario is sometimes divided into two regions, Northern Ontario and Southern Ontario. The great majority of Ontarios population and arable land is located in the south, in contrast, the larger, northern part of Ontario is sparsely populated with cold winters and is heavily forested. The province is named after Lake Ontario, a thought to be derived from Ontarí, io, a Huron word meaning great lake, or possibly skanadario. Ontario has about 250,000 freshwater lakes, the province consists of three main geographical regions, The thinly populated Canadian Shield in the northwestern and central portions, which comprises over half the land area of Ontario. Although this area mostly does not support agriculture, it is rich in minerals and in part covered by the Central and Midwestern Canadian Shield forests, studded with lakes, Northern Ontario is subdivided into two sub-regions, Northwestern Ontario and Northeastern Ontario. The virtually unpopulated Hudson Bay Lowlands in the north and northeast, mainly swampy. Southern Ontario which is further sub-divided into four regions, Central Ontario, Eastern Ontario, Golden Horseshoe, the highest point is Ishpatina Ridge at 693 metres above sea level located in Temagami, Northeastern Ontario. In the south, elevations of over 500 m are surpassed near Collingwood, above the Blue Mountains in the Dundalk Highlands, the Carolinian forest zone covers most of the southwestern region of the province. A well-known geographic feature is Niagara Falls, part of the Niagara Escarpment, the Saint Lawrence Seaway allows navigation to and from the Atlantic Ocean as far inland as Thunder Bay in Northwestern Ontario. Northern Ontario occupies roughly 87 percent of the area of the province. Point Pelee is a peninsula of Lake Erie in southwestern Ontario that is the southernmost extent of Canadas mainland, Pelee Island and Middle Island in Lake Erie extend slightly farther. All are south of 42°N – slightly farther south than the border of California. The climate of Ontario varies by season and location, the effects of these major air masses on temperature and precipitation depend mainly on latitude, proximity to major bodies of water and to a small extent, terrain relief. DVD is a digital optical disc storage format invented and developed by Philips, Sony, Toshiba, and Panasonic in 1995. The medium can store any kind of data and is widely used for software. DVDs offer higher capacity than compact discs while having the same dimensions. Pre-recorded DVDs are mass-produced using molding machines that physically stamp data onto the DVD, such discs are a form of DVD-ROM because data can only be read and not written or erased. Blank recordable DVD discs can be recorded using a DVD recorder. Rewritable DVDs can be recorded and erased many times, DVDs containing other types of information may be referred to as DVD data discs. The OED also states that in 1995, The companies said the name of the format will simply be DVD. Toshiba had been using the name ‘digital video disk’, but that was switched to ‘digital versatile disk’ after computer companies complained that it left out their applications, Digital versatile disc is the explanation provided in a DVD Forum Primer from 2000 and in the DVD Forums mission statement. There were several formats developed for recording video on optical discs before the DVD, Optical recording technology was invented by David Paul Gregg and James Russell in 1958 and first patented in 1961. A consumer optical disc data format known as LaserDisc was developed in the United States and it used much larger discs than the later formats. CD Video used analog video encoding on optical discs matching the established standard 120 mm size of audio CDs, Video CD became one of the first formats for distributing digitally encoded films in this format, in 1993. In the same year, two new optical disc formats were being developed. By the time of the launches for both formats in January 1995, the MMCD nomenclature had been dropped, and Philips and Sony were referring to their format as Digital Video Disc. Representatives from the SD camp asked IBM for advice on the system to use for their disc. Alan E. Bell, a researcher from IBMs Almaden Research Center, got that request and this group was referred to as the Technical Working Group, or TWG. On August 14,1995, an ad hoc group formed from five computer companies issued a release stating that they would only accept a single format. The TWG voted to both formats unless the two camps agreed on a single, converged standard. They recruited Lou Gerstner, president of IBM, to pressure the executives of the warring factions, as a result, the DVD specification provided a storage capacity of 4.7 GB for a single-layered, single-sided disc and 8.5 GB for a dual-layered, single-sided disc

Blu-ray

Blu-ray or Blu-ray Disc is a digital optical disc data storage format. It was designed to supersede the DVD format, in that it is capable of storing high-definition, the plastic disc is 120 mm in diameter and 1.2 mm thick, the same size as DVDs and CDs. Conventional Blu-ray Disc discs contain 25 GB per layer, with dual layer discs being the standard for feature-length video discs. Triple-layer discs and quadruple layers are available for BD-XL re-writer drives, the name Blu-ray refers to the blue laser used to read the disc, which allows information to be stored at a greater density than is possible with the longer-wavelength red laser used for DVDs. The main application of Blu-ray is as a medium for video material such as films and physical distribution of video games for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4. Besides the hardware specifications, Blu-ray is associated with a set of multimedia formats, high-definition video may be stored on Blu-ray discs with up to 2160p resolution, at up to 60 frames per second. DVD discs had been limited to a resolution of 480p or 576p. The BD format was developed by the Blu-ray Disc Association, a group representing makers of consumer electronics, computer hardware, Sony unveiled the first Blu-ray disc prototypes in October 2000, and the first prototype player was released in April 2003 in Japan. Afterwards, it continued to be developed until its release in June 2006. During the high definition disc format war, Blu-ray Disc competed with the HD DVD format. Toshiba, the company that supported HD DVD, conceded in February 2008. According to Media Research, high-definition software sales in the US were slower in the first two years than DVD software sales, Blu-ray faces competition from video on demand and the continued sale of DVDs. As of January 2016, 44% of U. S. broadband households had a Blu-ray player, the information density of the DVD format was limited by the wavelength of the laser diodes used. Following protracted development, blue laser diodes operating at 405 nanometers became available on a production basis, Sony started two projects in collaboration with Philips applying the new diodes, UDO, and DVR Blue, a format of rewritable discs that would eventually become Blu-ray Disc. The core technologies of the formats are similar, the first DVR Blue prototypes were unveiled at the CEATEC exhibition in October 2000 by Sony. A trademark for the Blue Disc logo was filed February 9,2001, on February 19,2002, the project was officially announced as Blu-ray Disc, and Blu-ray Disc Founders was founded by the nine initial members. The first consumer device arrived in stores on April 10,2003, the Sony BDZ-S77, but there was no standard for prerecorded video, and no movies were released for this player. On October 4,2004, the name Blu-ray Disc Founders was officially changed to the Blu-ray Disc Association, the Blu-ray Disc physical specifications were completed in 2004

Julie Ann Brown is an American actress, comedian, screen/television writer, singer-songwriter, and television director. Brown is perhaps best known for her work in the 1980s, much of her comedy has revolved around the mocking of famous people. Julie Brown began her performing in nightclubs. She began working on television with a guest spot on the sitcom Happy Days and she also appeared in the 1981 cult film Bloody Birthday. Tomlin and Brown eventually became close friends, a string of guest starring appearances in a variety of television shows followed, including, Laverne & Shirley, Buffalo Bill, The Jeffersons and Newhart. Brown also appeared in films such as Five Minutes, Miss Brown. In 1984, she released her first EP, an album called Goddess in Progress. The album, parodies of popular 80s music combined with her valley girl personality, was discovered by the Dr. Demento Show. The songs Cause Im a Blonde and The Homecoming Queens Got a Gun were given radio airplay across the world, the latter was a spoof on stereotypical 1950s teen tragedy songs, with cheerleaders heads and pompoms being blown to pieces. In 1987, Brown released her first full-length album, Trapped in the Body of a White Girl, the album highlighted her comedic talent and valley girl personality. The albums highlights were I Like em Big and Stupid and the reprised The Homecoming Queens Got a Gun, music videos were recorded and received heavy airplay on MTV. In 1989, Brown starred in that cable networks comedy and music-video show Just Say Julie and she played the role of a demanding, controlling, and pessimistic glamour-puss from the valley, making fun of popular music acts while at the same time introducing their music videos. Browns film career began in 1988 with the release of the film Earth Girls Are Easy, written, produced by, the film also starred Jeff Goldblum and Geena Davis. Brown cast then-unknown comedians Jim Carrey and Damon Wayans, in 1990 Brown had a brief part in the movie The Spirit of 76, as an intellectual stripper. NBC commissioned a pilot, ultimately unsold and airing Sunday, July 28,1991, at 7 p. m. Eastern Time. Brown was also a producer, with John Ziffren, and performed, walker, Don Sparks, Robin Angers, and Deborah Driggs were guest performers in this production from Mirkinvision and New World Television. The pilot was aired but the show was not picked up and that same year, she released the Showtime television movie Medusa, Dare to Be Truthful, a satire about Madonna and her backstage documentary, Truth or Dare. The Just Say Julie Bruin cartoon also was a video show and in her segment Elmer Fudd guest starred as Fuddonna, parody of Madonna

Maria Pilar Canals-Barrera is an American actress best known for her roles on television. Canals-Barrera co-starred in a number of short-lived sitcoms, worked as a voice actress and she is best known for her role as Theresa Russo in the Disney Channel family sitcom, Wizards of Waverly Place. She played the role of Connie Torres in Camp Rock and Camp Rock 2, The Final Jam, as a voice actress, she is known as Shayera Hol/Hawkgirl in Justice League and Justice League Unlimited. She also voiced Sunset Boulevardez in the Disney Channel show, The Proud Family, in 2014, Canals-Barrera began starring as Daniela in the ABC comedy series, Cristela. She was set to co-star as Hilda in the ABC comedy-drama series Members Only, however, Canals-Barrera was born and raised in Miami, Florida, to Cuban parents of Spanish descent. Canals-Barrera also speaks Spanish and took classes in junior high. In early years, Canals-Barrera has worked extensively in theater in both Miami and Los Angeles, in 1992 she began starring on Telemundo Spanish-language telenovela Marielena. She later had the role in the short-lived 1993 Fox comedy-drama series. During 1990s, Canals-Barrera also guest starred in a number of series, such as 21 Jump Street, Murder, She Wrote, Almost Perfect.
