Exquisite corpse

Exquisite corpse known as exquisite cadaver, is a method by which a collection of words or images is collectively assembled. Each collaborator adds to a composition in sequence, either by following a rule or by being allowed to see only the end of what the previous person contributed; this technique was invented by surrealists and is similar to an old parlour game called Consequences in which players write in turn on a sheet of paper, fold it to conceal part of the writing, pass it to the next player for a further contribution. Surrealism principal founder André Breton reported that it started in fun, but became playful and enriching. Breton said the diversion started about 1925, but Pierre Reverdy wrote that it started much earlier, at least as early as 1918; the name is derived from a phrase that resulted when Surrealists first played the game, "Le cadavre exquis boira le vin nouveau." André Breton writes that the game developed at the residence of friends at an old house in Montparnasse, 54 rue du Château.

Besides himself he mentions Marcel Duhamel, Jacques Prévert, Yves Tanguy and Benjamin Péret as original participants. Henry Miller played the game to pass time in French cafés during the 1930s. In a variant now known as picture consequences, instead of sentences, portions of a person were drawn; the game was adapted to drawing and collage, producing a result similar to children's books in which the pages were cut into thirds, the top third pages showing the head of a person or animal, the middle third the torso, the bottom third the legs, with children having the ability to "mix and match" by turning pages. In the context of parties, it can be run as a circle game in which a group of people cooperatively draw a person, taking about 20 minutes to play. An image of a person is drawn in portions, with the paper folded after each portion so that participants cannot see earlier portions, it has been recommended for use as a tool for teaching about tattoos. Picture consequences can be used to encourage a class to work together.

The game is recommended as a "rainy day" game. The point of the game is the surprise reveal for simple fun; the person can be drawn in four steps: the torso, the legs and the feet. As a last step, a player may label the drawing, still unseen, with someone's name; the name "picture consequences" is sometimes used to describe Telephone Pictionary, a game in which players alternate writing descriptions and matching illustrations based on the previous step. The cut-up technique of William S. Burroughs and Brion Gysin was influenced by Surrealism. Exquisite Corpse is the name of a literary magazine founded in 1983 published by Andrei Codrescu. Naked Came the Manatee is a mystery thriller parody novel; each of its thirteen chapters was written, in sequence, by a different Florida writer, beginning with Dave Barry and ending with Carl Hiaasen. Exquisite Fruit is a variant conceived by members of the National Puzzlers' League in which a round of trivia questions are sequentially written by players, given an answer provided by each player at the start, the resulting question posed to another player at the end.

The Narrative Corpse is a comic book chain-story by 69 all-star cartoonists co-edited by Art Spiegelman and R. Sikoryak; the Breaking Boredom Project in graphic design, Cairo The Exquisite Corpse Adventure, commissioned by the Library of Congress, uses well-known children's authors and illustrators Jake and Dinos Chapman have produced a number of exquisite corpses. Apichatpong Weerasethakul's 2000 film Mysterious Object at Noon uses this technique with a mixture of documentary and fictional film; the Exquisite Corpse Project is a 2012 feature-length comedy film written using the exquisite corpse technique. A Rick and Morty 2017 trailer for season 3 is titled "Exquisite Corpse" and features a multiple minute long sequence to the song "Thursday in the Danger Room" from the album Run the Jewels 3 by Run the Jewels. Exquisite Corps and And So Say All of Us are choreographic versions by filmmaker Mitchell Rose. In the 1940s, composers John Cage, Virgil Thomson, Henry Cowell, Lou Harrison, composed a set of pieces using this same process--writing a measure of music, with 1 or 2 additional notes, folding it on the bar line passing it to the next person.

The pieces were arranged by Robert Hughes and published as Party Pieces. The band Bauhaus have a track titled "Exquisite Corpse" on their third studio album, which appears to have been created in this collaborative surrealist style. Tiemko have a track titled "In Memoriam" on their fourth studio album presented as a "musical exquisite corpse". A song in the musical Hedwig and the Angry Inch is entitled "Exquisite Corpse"; the musician Daedelus named his album Exquisite Corpse. The band Warpaint named their debut EP Exquisite Corpse because of their collaborative songwriting style. George Watsky's 2016 album, x Infinity, features a song titled "Exquisite Corpse" using this technique featuring verses by several artists. Australian sound art collective Little Songs of the Mutilated use the exquisite corpse process to create music, as well as the song and album titles, for their ongoing series of monthly collaborative releases. Dew point

The dew point is the temperature to which air must be cooled to become saturated with water vapor. When further cooled, the airborne water vapour will condense to form liquid water; when air cools to its dew point through contact with a surface, colder than the air, water will condense on the surface. When the temperature is below the freezing point of water, the dew point is called the frost point, as frost is formed rather than dew; the measurement of the dew point is related to humidity. A higher dew point means. If all the other factors influencing humidity remain constant, at ground level the relative humidity rises as the temperature falls. In normal conditions, the dew point temperature will not be greater than the air temperature, since relative humidity cannot exceed 100%. In technical terms, the dew point is the temperature at which the water vapor in a sample of air at constant barometric pressure condenses into liquid water at the same rate at which it evaporates. At temperatures below the dew point, the rate of condensation will be greater than that of evaporation, forming more liquid water.

The condensed water is called frost if it freezes. In the air, the condensed water is called either fog or a cloud, depending on its altitude when it forms. If the temperature is below the dew point, the vapor is called supersaturated; this can happen. A high relative humidity implies. A relative humidity of 100% indicates the dew point is equal to the current temperature and that the air is maximally saturated with water; when the moisture content remains constant and temperature increases, relative humidity decreases, but the dew point remains constant. General aviation pilots use dew point data to calculate the likelihood of carburetor icing and fog, to estimate the height of a cumuliform cloud base. Increasing the barometric pressure increases the dew point; this means that, if the pressure increases, the mass of water vapor in the air must be reduced in order to maintain the same dew point. For example, consider New York and Denver; because Denver is at a higher elevation than New York, it will tend to have a lower barometric pressure.

This means that if the dew point and temperature in both cities are the same, the amount of water vapor in the air will be greater in Denver. When the air temperature is high, the human body uses the evaporation of sweat to cool down, with the cooling effect directly related to how fast the perspiration evaporates; the rate at which perspiration can evaporate depends on how much moisture is in the air and how much moisture the air can hold. If the air is saturated with moisture, perspiration will not evaporate; the body's thermoregulation will produce perspiration in an effort to keep the body at its normal temperature when the rate at which it is producing sweat exceeds the evaporation rate, so one can become coated with sweat on humid days without generating additional body heat. As the air surrounding one's body is warmed by body heat, it will rise and be replaced with other air. If air is moved away from one's body with a natural breeze or a fan, sweat will evaporate faster, making perspiration more effective at cooling the body.

The more unevaporated perspiration, the greater the discomfort. A wet bulb thermometer uses evaporative cooling, so it provides a good measure for use in evaluating comfort level. Discomfort exists when the dew point is low; the drier air can cause skin to become irritated more easily. It will dry out the airways; the US Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends indoor air be maintained at 20–24.5 °C with a 20–60% relative humidity, equivalent to a dew point of 4.0 to 15.5 °C. Lower dew points, less than 10 °C, correlate with lower ambient temperatures and causes the body to require less cooling. A lower dew point can go along with a high temperature only at low relative humidity, allowing for effective cooling. People inhabiting tropical and subtropical climates acclimatize somewhat to higher dew points. Thus, a resident of Singapore or Miami, for example, might have a higher threshold for discomfort than a resident of a temperate climate like London or Chicago. People accustomed to temperate climates begin to feel uncomfortable when the dew point gets above 15 °C, while others might find dew points up to 18 °C comfortable.

Most inhabitants of temperate areas will consider dew points above 21 °C oppressive and tropical-like, while inhabitants of hot and humid areas may not find this uncomfortable. Thermal comfort depends not just on physical environmental factors, but on psychological factors. Devices called; these devices consist of a polished metal mirror, cooled as air is passed over it. Veronica Webb is an American model, actress and television personality. The first African-American to have a major cosmetics contract, Webb has appeared on covers of Vogue and Elle magazines and on the runway for Victoria's Secret and Chanel. Webb was born in Detroit, the daughter of Marion, a public health doctor, Leonard Douglas Webb, an electrician. Prior to her birth, both her parents spent 20 years in the Army, she grew up in a working class community. One of Webb's sisters became another is a mathematician; as a youth, Webb identified with magazine models and women who were involved in the fashion industry, who exhibited control over their appearance. She enjoyed comic books and dreamed of becoming an animator. Webb moved to New York to study design. After a makeup artist saw her in a housewares boutique, Webb dropped out of school to become a model, she appeared in the music video for New Order's "Round and Round" off their 1989 album "Technique" and appears in Scritti Politti's "Perfect Way" video from their 1985 album Cupid & Psyche 85.

In New York, Webb pursued a modeling career and became a spokesmodel for Revlon. She was the first black supermodel to win an exclusive contract for a major cosmetics company. Robin Deacon

Robin Deacon is an artist and filmmaker based in the USA. His interdisciplinary practice has spanned a variety of disciplines and themes, including explorations of performer presence and absence, the role of the artist as biographer, the possibility for journalistic approaches to arts practice, the mapping and ethics of performance re-enactment, he graduated from Cardiff School of Art in 1996, went on to present his performances and videos at conferences and festivals in the UK and internationally in Europe, USA and Asia. His work has been commissioned and programmed by venues such as The ICA, The Young Vic, London, CCCB, Tanzquartier Wein and the Centre d'art Scenique Contemporain Lausanne, Tate Britain and the Barbican Centre, London, he has been artist in residence at Sophiensaele in Berlin, Camden Arts Centre London and Robert Wilson's Watermill Center, New York. He has received a variety of awards and fellowships from organizations such as the Delfina Foundation, British Arts Council, Live Art Development Agency and Franklin Furnace Inc.

Between 2003 and 2012, he was an Associate Artist of contemporary artists producing organization Artsadmin. Deacon’s early 1990’s output focused on the visual and the physical, with a series of performances exploring object manipulation and personification. Work began questioning the spatial limitations and social conventions imposed on performance with a series of interventions in public and televisual spaces, including an impromptu interrogation of former UK Home Secretary Michael Howard on the Channel 5 show, The Wright Stuff; the late 1990s saw a series of performances that explored issues of racial politics, notions and definitions of obscenity produced in collaboration with performance artist and film actor Laurence R. Harvey. From the early 2000s, he began producing a series of works that used spoken word and lecture based presentation, such as Harry and Me; this performance lecture described Deacon’s search for television footage of himself as a member of his school choir on an edition of Harry Secombe’s religious program Highway.

The performance interrogates media representations of multiculturalism, pursuing the narrative that he was planted in the choir to provide a more racially integrated image. Deacon become known for his works in political biography, with a series of performances on the lives of former US Secretary of State Colin Powell and German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Both these performances were characterized by a humorous and satirical approach to the subject matter; these works had a strong multimedia element and were rewritten in response to prevailing news events regarding their subjects. Deacon's performance piece Prototypes stylistically referenced the output of documentary films produced by the British Transport Commission. Between 2011 and 2013, two new lecture based. Following a development award from Franklin Furnace Inc. and a three day in progress presentation of the work at the Emily Harvey Gallery, NYC, a final version of White Balance was presented as part of the Conversations at the Edge series at the Gene Siskel Theater in Chicago, at the Spill Festival at the Barbican Centre, London.

Although the use of video and film has been incorporated as an element of Deacon’s live work, several of his projects explored these mediums in their own right. His early video pieces were short, single channel video works such as What is a Performance Artist?, a compilation of uses of the word ‘performance art’ or ‘performance artist’ in popular cultural contexts such as cinema and television. In 2005, he received a Live Art Development Agency commission for the film They Used to Call it a White Elephant, screened as part of the Variety season at the De La Warr Pavilion, Bexhill, UK. In 2009, he began initial work on what would become his first feature-length documentary film on the life of the late US American performance artist and filmmaker Stuart Sherman; the completed film, Spectacle: A Portrait of Stuart Sherman saw its first screening in 2013 in a curatorial collaboration between Performa and the'Rituals of Rented Island' Exhibition at the Whitney Museum, New York. There were subsequent screenings at the BBC Art Screen Festival at the Glasgow Film Theatre, Tate Britain in London, the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago.

Parallel to this film Robin Deacon performed and directed a series of live solo and group re-enactments of Sherman's performances, including Sherman's ensemble version of Hamlet, shown as part of the Sacred: US Radical season at London's Chelsea Theatre in 2009. Robin Deacon has published several chapters based on his research and practice, including contributions to monographs on the Norwegian Performance group Baktruppen and on artist filmmaker Stuart Sherman, he has been invited to present at the Performance Studies International Conference at the University of Mainz, University of Zagreb and Stanford University, USA. Ramey, Pennsylvania

Ramey is a borough in Clearfield County, United States. The population was 451 at the 2010 census. Ramey is located in southeastern Clearfield County at 40°48′1″N 78°24′5″W, at the intersection of Pennsylvania Routes 253 and 453. PA 253 leads northeast 3.5 miles to Houtzdale, PA 453 leads northwest 4 miles to Madera. The two highways together lead southwest 3 miles to Janesville. According to the United States Census Bureau, the borough of Ramey has a total area of 0.93 square miles, of which 0.004 square miles, or 0.41%, is water. As of the census of 2000, there were 525 people, 207 households, 156 families residing in the borough; the population density was 584.8 people per square mile. There were 222 housing units at an average density of 247.3 per square mile. The racial makeup of the borough was 99.24% White, 0.38% Native American, 0.38% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.95% of the population. There were 207 households, out of which 32.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 59.9% were married couples living together, 11.1% had a female householder with no husband present, 24.6% were non-families.

22.2% of all households were made up of individuals, 14.5% had someone living alone, 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.54 and the average family size was 2.95. In the borough the population was spread out, with 24.6% under the age of 18, 7.8% from 18 to 24, 27.6% from 25 to 44, 20.6% from 45 to 64, 19.4% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females there were 92.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 93.2 males. The median income for a household in the borough was $29,167, the median income for a family was $36,563. Gemifloxacin mesylate is an oral broad-spectrum quinolone antibacterial agent used in the treatment of acute bacterial exacerbation of chronic bronchitis and mild-to-moderate pneumonia. Gemifloxacin is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by susceptible strains of the designated microorganisms in the conditions listed below. At therapeutic doses they include: central nervous system toxicity, cardiovascular toxicity, tendon / articular toxicity, hepatic toxicity.

Events that may occur in acute overdose are rare and include: renal failure and seizure. Children and the elderly are at greater risk. Tendon damage may manifest during, as well as up to a year after fluoroquinolone therapy; the FDA ordered a black box warnings on all fluoroquinolones advising consumers of the possible toxic effects of fluoroquinolones on tendons. On August 15, 2013 the FDA issued a Safety Announcement where they described that they are requiring the medication guides and drug labels for all fluoroquinolones to be updated and better describe the risk for peripheral neuropathy; the peripheral neuropathy may occur quickly, may be irreversible. This warning applies to fluoroquinolones taken by mouth and injection, but does not apply to fluoroquinolones taken topically.
