After gaining attention in a Parker Pen commercial with Amitabh Bachchan, D'Souza began her acting career with the Hindi film Tujhe Meri Kasam in 2003. Tujhe Meri Kasam is a 2003 Hindi-language romantic drama film starring the debutants Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D'Souza. It was directed by K. Vijaya Bhaskar and produced by Ramoji Rao, and Viju Shah as music director. This film otherwise, specifically marked the Hindi debut of Shriya Saran. It is a remake of the Malayalam film Niram. This film was nominated for several awards, including the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut category. The film was a commercial success at the box office and was labelled as Semi Hit by Box Office India.
