History of rugby union matches between England and Scotland
England and Scotland have been playing each other at rugby union since 1871 when Scotland beat England in the first ever rugby union international. A total of 142 matches have been played, with England having won 76 times, Scotland 47 times and nineteen matches have been drawn.

Scotland national rugby union team
The Scotland national rugby union team represents the Scottish Rugby Union in men's international rugby union. The team takes part in the annual Six Nations Championship, where they are the current Calcutta Cup and Doddie Weir Cup holders. They also participate in the Rugby World Cup, which takes place every four years.
