It was the first and only event under the Redemption chronology and the first event in the 2018 Impact Wrestling pay-per-view schedule. Wrestlers from Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA) and Lucha Underground, with whom Impact has partnerships, also appear on the card.

The TNA World Tag Team Championship is a men's professional wrestling world tag team championship which is owned by the Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) promotion. The current champions are The System, who are in their first reign as a team. Individually, this is Myers' second and Edwards' sixth reign.
