AVN Adult Entertainment Expo

The AVN Adult Entertainment Expo is an adult entertainment convention and trade show held each January in Las Vegas, Nevada and is sponsored by AVN magazine. AEE is the largest pornography industry trade show in the United States, the 2007 AVN Expo had over 30,000 attendees, which included 355 exhibiting companies. The AEE is a show which mixes industry-only events with open hours for fans seeking autographs, photo opportunities. The first two days are Trade Only, and the remainder of the show includes open hours for fans, one of the major aspects of the AEE is that most of the major adult entertainment stars make appearances. The AVN Awards are presented on the closing night. The 2016 show will be held January 19-23rd, until 2012, the AEE was usually held at the Sands Expo and Convention Center concurrently with the Consumer Electronics Show. Des Moines /dᵻˈmɔɪn/ is the capital and the most populous city in the U. S. state of Iowa. It is also the county seat of Polk County, a small portion of the city extends into Warren County. Other major corporations such as Wells Fargo, Voya Financial, Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company, ACE Limited, Marsh, Monsanto, in recent years Microsoft, Hewlett Packard and Facebook have established data processing and logistical facilities in the Des Moines metro. Forbes magazine ranked Des Moines as the Best Place for Business in both 2010 and 2013, in 2014, NBC ranked Des Moines as the Wealthiest City in America, according to its criteria. Des Moines is an important city in U. S. presidential politics, as the capital of the state, many presidential candidates set up campaign headquarters in Des Moines. Des Moines takes its name from Fort Des Moines, which was named for the Des Moines River and this was adopted from the name given by French colonists. Des Moines translates literally to either from the monks or of the monks, the historian Virgil Vogel claimed that the name was derived from Moingona, the Algonquian clan name for Loon, one of the clans of the local Native American people. Some historians and researchers lacking linguistic or Algonquianist training concluded that Moingona meant people by the portage or something similar and this was the site of the earliest known encounters between the Moingona and European explorers took place. This was some 200 miles from the Des Moines River, based on archeological evidence, the juncture of the Des Moines and Raccoon rivers has attracted humans for at least 7,000 years. Several prehistoric occupation areas have been identified by archeologists in downtown Des Moines, discovered in December 2010, the Palace is an expansive 7, 000-year-old site found during excavations prior to construction of the new wastewater treatment plant in southeastern Des Moines. It contains well-preserved house deposits and numerous graves, more than 6,000 artifacts were found at this site. Indian summer is a period of unseasonably warm, dry weather that sometimes occurs in autumn in the Northern Hemisphere. The US National Weather Service defines this as conditions that are sunny and clear with above normal temperatures. Palin was born in Sandpoint, Idaho, the third of four children of Sarah Sally Heath, a school secretary, Chuck Heath, a science teacher and track-and-field coach. Palins siblings are Chuck Jr. Heather, and Molly, Palin is of English, Irish, and German ancestry. When Palin was a few old, the family moved to Skagway, Alaska. They relocated to Eagle River in 1969 and finally settled in Wasilla in 1972, during her senior year, she was co-captain and point guard of the basketball team that won the 1982 Alaska state championship, earning the nickname Sarah Barracuda for her competitive streak. In 1984, Palin won the Miss Wasilla beauty pageant, then finished third in the Miss Alaska pageant and she played the flute in the talent portion of the contest. One author reports that she received the Miss Congeniality award in the Miss Wasilla contest, after graduating from high school in 1982, Palin enrolled at the University of Hawaii at Hilo. She enrolled at the University of Idaho in Moscow for a year starting in August 1984. Palin returned to the University of Idaho in January 1986 and received her bachelors degree in communications with an emphasis in journalism in May 1987, in June 2008, the Alumni Association of North Idaho College gave Palin its Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award. After graduation, she worked as a sportscaster for KTUU-TV and KTVA-TV in Anchorage and as a reporter for the Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman. In August 1988, she eloped with her school sweetheart. Following the birth of their first child in April 1989, she helped in her husbands commercial fishing business, Palin was elected to the Wasilla City Council in 1992, winning 530 votes to 310. Throughout her tenure on the city council and the rest of her political career, concerned that revenue from a new Wasilla sales tax would not be spent wisely, Palin ran for mayor of Wasilla in 1996, defeating incumbent mayor John Stein 651 to 440 votes. Penthouse, an iconic mens magazine founded by Italo-American Bob Guccione, combines urban lifestyle articles and softcore pornographic pictorials that, in the 1990s, temporarily evolved into hardcore. Penthouse has been owned by Penthouse Global Media Inc. since 2016, although Guccione was American, the magazine was founded in 1965, in the United Kingdom, but beginning in September 1969, was sold in the United States as well. At the height of his success, Guccione, who died in 2010, was considered to be one of the richest men in the United States and he was once listed in the Forbes 400 ranking of wealthiest people. The Penthouse logo is a key which incorporates both the Mars and Venus symbols in its design. The magazines centerfold models are known as Penthouse Pets and customarily wear a distinctive necklace inspired by said logo, Penthouse magazine began publication in 1965, in the UK and in North America in 1969, an attempt to compete with Hugh Hefners Playboy. The magazine was founded on humble beginnings, due to Gucciones lack of resources, he personally photographed most of the models for the magazines early issues. Guccione would sometimes take several days to complete a shoot, as the magazine grew more successful, Guccione openly embraced a life of luxury, his former mansion is said to be the largest private residence in Manhattan at 22,000 square feet. However, in contrast to Hugh Hefner, who threw wild parties at his Playboy Mansions, life at Gucciones mansion was remarkably sedate and he reportedly once had his bodyguards eject a local radio personality who had been hired as a DJ and jumped into the swimming pool naked. Penthouse has also, over the years, featured a number of authorized and unauthorized photos of such as Madonna. In both cases, the photos were taken earlier in their careers and sold to Penthouse only after Madonna, in the late 1990s, the magazine began to show more fetish content such as urination, bondage and facials. On January 15,2016, a press release emanating from then owner FriendFinder Networks announced that Penthouse would shutter its print operations, however, managing director Kelly Holland quickly disavowed the decision and pledged to keep the print version of the magazine alive. In 1982, Guccione was listed in the Forbes 400 ranking of wealthiest people, with a reported $400 million net worth. In October 2003, it was announced that Penthouse magazine was being put up for sale as part of a deal with its creditors, on November 13,2004, Guccione resigned as Chairman and CEO of Penthouse International, the parent of General Media.
