Ivan Šunjić is a Croatian professional footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for EFL Championship club Birmingham City. He previously played for Lokomotiva and Dinamo Zagreb, and spent the 2022–23 season on loan to Bundesliga club Hertha BSC. Internationally, he was a regular in Croatia's youth teams from under-16 through to under-21 level, and was capped once for the senior team in 2017.

The club has competed in the EFL Championship, the second tier of English football, since 2011, but will compete in EFL League One in the 2024–25 season, following relegation.
