Kivukoni meaning 'A crossing from a to b' in the Kiswahili language is one of Ilala district's wards in the coastal city of Dar es Salaam[1] in Tanzania.


The area is most notable for its vibrant and largest fresh fish markets at The Mzizima Fish Market and The Kivukoni Fish Market run under the supervision of the Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries of Tanzania[2]
