The McLaren MP4-18 is a Formula One car which was built with the intention to compete in the 2003 Formula One season. The car, designed by Adrian Newey, Mike Coughlan, and Neil Oatley, was a radical new design that incorporated numerous ideas that were still in their infancy in Formula One. Many of these ideas would be used again, such as the blown diffuser on the Red Bull RB7. Several problems with the car that revolved primarily around cooling the engine and gearbox meant that the car was stillborn and never raced.
The blown diffuser worked by directing the exhaust gases through the rear diffuser, speeding up the air passing through & generating more downforce. The arrow above the wheel indicates the direction the car is travelling.

The Mercedes-Benz FO engine series is a family of naturally-aspirated V8 and V10 racing engines, designed, developed and produced by Mercedes, in partnership and collaboration with Ilmor, for Formula One, and used between 1993 and 2013. Over years of development, engine power managed to increase, from 690 @ 15,600 rpm, to later 930 hp @ 19,000 rpm. The customer engines were used by Sauber, McLaren, Brawn GP, and Force India.
