Jeopardy! is an American television game show created by Merv Griffin. The show is a quiz competition that reverses the traditional question-and-answer format of many quiz shows. Rather than being given questions, contestants are instead given general knowledge clues in the form of answers and they must identify the person, place, thing, or idea that the clue describes, phrasing each response in the form of a question.
Alex Trebek hosted the show from 1984 until his death in 2020.
Mike Richards was the host of the show for one week in 2021 before resigning the position amid controversy.
Mayim Bialik shared hosting duties on the syndicated version from 2021 to 2023, while also hosting the prime-time Jeopardy! National College Championship and first Celebrity Jeopardy! tournaments. In December 2023, Bialik was removed from her role as a syndicated co-host of Jeopardy!
Ken Jennings shared hosting duties on the syndicated version from 2021 to 2023, while also hosting the prime-time Jeopardy! Masters and second Celebrity Jeopardy! tournaments. In December 2023, Jennings became the sole host of Jeopardy! for all forms of media.
