Michael Doheny was an Irish writer, lawyer, member of the Young Ireland movement, and co-founder of the Irish Republican Brotherhood, an Irish secret society which would go on to launch the Fenian Rai
Following the failure of the 1848 rebellion, Doheny partnered up with Stephens to evade escape from the British. The two would eventually escape to France, then the United States. Years later, the two would found the Irish Republican Brotherhood together.
