Moghulistan, also called the Moghul Khanate or the Eastern Chagatai Khanate, was a Turco-Mongol, Muslim, breakaway khanate of the Chagatai Khanate and a historical geographic area north of the Tengri
"Moghul" envoys seen in Beijing in 1656 by Johan Nieuhof, who took them for representatives of the Moghuls of India. However, Luciano Petech (1914–2010) classifies them visitors from Turpan in Moghulistan.
Ogedei Khan's descendants are found among the eastern and western Chaghtai Khanates of Central Asia.
