The New York Post, founded as the New York Evening Post, is an American conservative daily tabloid newspaper published in New York City. The Post also operates three online sites: NYPost.com; Page Six
The New York Post was founded in 1801 by Alexander Hamilton, a Founding Father who George Washington appointed as the nation's first Secretary of the Treasury.
Hamilton appointed William Coleman as the newspaper's first editor in 1801; Coleman served in that capacity until his death in 1829.
