The Battle of Kampala was a battle of the Ugandan Bush War that took place from 17 to 26 January 1986 in which forces of the National Resistance Army attacked and captured the Ugandan capital, Kampala
Suspected to harbour NRA fighters, Rubaga Cathedral was targeted by UNLA artillery on 20 January.
One of the NRA's BTR-60 armoured personnel carriers (example pictured) was destroyed during the battle.
