Peggy Mondo was an American actress known for playing roles of overweight characters. Her early background included training as an opera singer before making her Broadway theatre debut in the late 1950s musical The Music Man and later appeared in the 1962 film adaptation. Mondo felt she was typecast into roles that emphasized her weight.
