Petrozavodsk State University
Petrozavodsk State University (PetrSU) is a classical university in Petrozavodsk, Republic of Karelia, Russia.
It was founded in 1940 as the Karelian-Finnish University and was renamed in 1956 to Petrozavodsk State University. The rector of Petrozavodsk State University is Prof. Anatoly V. Voronin.

Petrozavodsk is the capital city of the Republic of Karelia, Russia, which stretches along the western shore of Lake Onega for some 27 kilometers (17 mi). The population of the city is 280,890 as of 2022.
