Professional baseball

Professional baseball is played in leagues throughout the world. In these leagues and associated farm teams, baseball players are selected for their talents and are paid to play for a specific team or club system. Major League Baseball in the United States and Canada consists of the National League and the American League. Teams in one league never played teams in the other until the World Series, in which the champions of the two leagues played against each other; this changed in 1997 with the advent of interleague play. In addition to the major leagues, many North American cities and towns feature minor league teams. An organization styled Minor League Baseball the National Association of Professional Baseball Leagues, oversees nearly all minor league baseball in the United States and Canada; the minor leagues are divided into classes AAA, AA, High A, Low A, Short-Season A, Advanced Rookie, Rookie. These minor-league divisions are affiliated with major league teams, serve to develop young players and rehabilitate injured major-leaguers.

Organized Baseball is applied as an umbrella term for all leagues — Major and minor — under the authority of the Commissioner of Baseball. However, after Jackie Robinson began playing with the major-league Brooklyn Dodgers in 1947, the Negro Leagues faded; the process of integration did not go smoothly. Now, baseball is integrated, there is little to no racial tension between teammates. Between 1943 and 1954, the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League fielded teams in several Midwestern towns. The Voice Senior (Dutch TV series)

The Voice Senior is a Dutch talent-search television program produced by Talpa Productions, broadcast on RTL 4. The show is based on the concept of The Voice of Holland and The Voice Kids, both of which were created by John de Mol. However, participation is only open to elders of more than sixty years old; the show consists of four different phases: production audition, Blind Audition, The Knockouts and the Live Finale. The coaches can only choose the contestant on the basis of musicality and voice by pressing the button, causing their chairs turn around and facing the artist. If two or more coaches want the same artist, the artist can choose which coach he or she wants to continue in the program.
