Pseudevernia is a genus of foliose lichens in the family Parmeliaceae. The type species of the genus, Pseudevernia furfuracea, has substantial commercial value in the perfume industry.

Friedrich Wilhelm Zopf was a German botanist and mycologist. He dedicated his career to fungal biology, particularly to classification of fungi and dye production of fungi and lichens. His 1890 textbo
