He played in Major League Baseball as a pitcher from 1970 to 1976 and in 1978 for the Boston Red Sox, Atlanta Braves, and the Texas Rangers. Tall and slender, the left-hander was listed as 6 feet 4 inches (1.93 m) tall and 170 pounds (77 kg).
