Steve Johnson (Days of Our Lives)
Steve "Patch" Johnson is a fictional character on NBC's daytime drama, Days of Our Lives. He has been portrayed by Stephen Nichols from June 13, 1985, to October 23, 1990, from June 9, 2006, to February 17, 2009, again from August 28, 2015, to August 31, 2018. Steve served in the Merchant Marines with Bo Brady and they were good friends until they both fell for a woman named Britta, they competed for her, sometimes violently, went along with her when she asked them to get tattoos. They didn't know; as the competition accelerated, Bo and Steve got in a knife fight which ended with Steve losing his eye. They split up and Steve returned to Salem to work for Victor Kiriakis, he was deployed to get a piece of film from Kimberly Brady, but the film found its way to Melissa and Pete Jannings who promptly went on the run when they figured out how dangerous it was. Bo and Hope Brady went off in pursuit, sure that the film would give them the evidence they needed to convict Kiriakis for his crimes. Although Victor and Steve were both arrested, they managed to get free thanks to Victor's blackmailing Larry Welch to taking the blame.
Steve's next project went worse. He held a mysterious man planned to sell him to Victor; the plan fell through. Things got uglier for him when Britta walked back into his life. Although they began seeing each other, she wound up injured after someone tried to shoot him and shot her in the crossfire. Once she recovered, she walked out; this left him with the chance to fall in love with Kayla Brady. After they hooked up, he began having disturbing memories and became distant from her, he soon found. After he discovered that his sister—Adrienne—killed their father in self-defense, he decided to shield her and take the blame. All the while she had blocked the incident from her mind, but as the memories returned, she confessed just before he could be sentenced for the crime. Next, Steve got mixed up with Harper Deveraux, helping him to fake his death so that he could escape while battling with Steve's old boss Victor. Learning of the plot, Victor had the blanks in Steve's gun changed for live ones and Harper ended up in a coma after being shot by Steve.
Grabbing Kayla, Steve went on the run only to be cleared of the charges. When he returned to Salem with Kayla, things would take an unexpected turn, he and his sister had discovered that Jack Deveraux was their long lost brother. Because Jack was dying at the time they didn't bother him with this fact. At the same time, Kayla became Jack's nurse and he fell madly in love with her. Seeing this, Steve started to push her away so that she could spend her time with Jack and make him happy; this proved effective and Jack married Kayla, but the plan collapsed after that. Steve had discovered. Although she was ill, she refused to believe him and ran; this was enough to spark things up between them and they began an affair which they tried to shield from Jack. The affair was publicly exposed in the newspaper. Jack raped Kayla and had Steve beaten. Steve wound up pushing him off a roof; the fall resulted in severe injuries and Jack needed a kidney transplant to live. Since Steve, as his brother, was a match, he agreed to give up a kidney for him, though only at his mother's prompting.
The nightmare wasn't over for Kayla though. Harper was on the loose and he kidnapped her and Kimberly when they realized that he was the Riverfront Knifer. Steve saved them, but Kayla was injured in the fallout and suffered from deafness and loss of speech. After a successful surgery, she could hear again and Steve asked her to marry him, they did and her speech returned just in time for her to say'I do.' The happy couple went off to the Orient for their honeymoon. There they encountered a deaf boy named Benjy, they returned to Salem with the child but his mother soon came after them. She told them that his father was a nasty man but let them look out for him, hoping that they could protect him, she was found dead soon after. The mysterious father turned out to be the nefarious Stefano DiMera but, to ease their burden, Benjy's grandfather, arrived to take him away to live in secrecy. Danger ended up coming at Kayla from another source soon after. Harper had escaped prison and kidnapped her once again, but Steve managed to save her and put Harper back in prison.
The next year, Steve became mixed up with Nick Corelli after he found his burned body. Steve hid Nick while he had to bring Kayla into the fold to help out; when Nick was sufficiently recovered, he left them but his bad luck followed him. Steve would have to come to his rescue when he needed help trying to get rid of Eddie, trying to steal his secret fortune; when Eddie was shot in a standoff, Nick gave Kayla his mansion as a token of his thanks. That year, Steve joined the ISA and was sent to track an arsonist, torching black churches in the south, his investigation brought him to Saul Taylor's revivalist camp, which just happened to be set up right outside Salem. After undergoing some facial surgery and getting a glass eye, he infiltrated the group under the alias of Brother Daniel Lucas, he soon discovered that Taylor was using the camp as a front for stolen goods and that he was behind many of the bombings which included an explosion that killed his best friend's parents. The investigation ended when Taylor's partner shot him and went off a cliff during a fight.
Returning to focus his attention on Kayla, Steve found. Their happiness was complicated by
Stefano DiMera is a fictional character from the American soap opera, Days of Our Lives. Created by head writer Pat Falken Smith, he was portrayed by actor Joseph Mascolo. Stefano is the patriarch of the DiMera family and the father of Renée DuMonde, Megan Hathaway, Benjy Hawk, Lexie Carver, EJ DiMera, Chad DiMera, the stepfather of Antony DiMera, he is the adoptive father of Peter and Kristen Blake. For a brief period, he believed, he had André DiMera, who through plastic surgery became identical to Antony. In 2015, André was revealed to be Stefano's son. Stefano is the ex-husband of Vivian Alamain. Stefano first entered the show as a wealthy European businessman who relocated to Salem, revealed substantial ties to organized crime, both at home and abroad. Over the years Stefano's character has fluctuated between that of a syndicate boss, political terrorist, ruthless business tycoon, loving family man. Soap Opera Digest named him the all-time best villain. In the early 1980s head writer, Pat Falken Smith created the role for Mascolo after seeing his performance as real-life crime boss, Salvatore Maranzano on the NBC miniseries, The Gangster Chronicles in 1981.
Mascolo first appeared as Stefano on January 18, 1982. He departed from the series on March 8, 1983, returned a year on March 2, 1984 before departing on May 11, 1984 only to return on October 19 and depart again on February 22, 1985. Mascolo returned to the series from November 4 to December 19, 1988. Actor Frank Fata appeared in the role of Stefano for two episodes which aired on December 3 and 4, 1991. Mascolo reclaimed the role on a contractual basis on September 17, 1993, he departed from the show on December 24, 1996, re-appeared for a few episodes from February 7 to 13, 1997. Mascolo returned to the show full-time once again on June 13, 1997. In late February 2001, a post on Mascolo's official website revealed that contract negotiations were not going well and Mascolo was expected to last appear in May. However, a representative of Mascolo's took to the website to deny the reports. In April 2001, rumors of Mascolo's exit due to failed contract negotiations began to surface once again and the producers were considering recasting the role.
Days Mascolo was spotted at CBS's The Bold and the Beautiful. In May 2001, Mascolo took to his website to confirm the news:My contract is up in May and I tried to negotiate in good faith... One expects some give and take but the powers that be are adamant, they now feel that the character of Stefano should take a rest – as if Stefano rests. Though Mascolo seemed disappointed with the show's decision to write the character out executive producer Ken Corday revealed plans to bring the character back by the fall of 2001 whether Mascolo was available or not. Mascolo made his last official appearance on June 14, 2001. Though Mascolo denied the reports, he did indeed debut in the role of Massimo Marone on The Bold and the Beautiful in August 2001. In the fall of 2006, following Mascolo's exit from B&B due to lack of storyline, reports began to surface claiming that Mascolo was going to reprise his role as Stefano; the series' producers confirmed plans to revive the DiMera family in order to stop a decline in ratings.
A deathly ill, comatose Stefano began appearing on December 19, 2006. Though some sources list Mascolo in the cast credits for the episodes, neither Mascolo nor NBC have stated that he portrayed comatose Stefano, it was confirmed that Mascolo would reappear in the role in 2007, along with costars Thaao Penghlis and Leann Hunley. Mascolo made his first official appearance as Stefano on June 6, 2007; however the stint proved to be short-lived with Mascolo last appearing on February 29, 2008 and the character of Stefano was written out to allow the writers to come up with more story for him. In May 2008, the tabloid Globe confirmed that Mascolo had been fired and Stefano was written into another coma; this decision did not sit well with Mascolo who gave a heated interview to Soap Opera Digest accusing the executives of "double crossing" him. In the summer of 2008, it was confirmed that Mascolo would once again reprise his role as Stefano in August 2008. Mascolo revealed in an interview that his initial anger was fueled by emotion following the death of his father.
Following his initial ousting, fans took to his website to express how much they missed the character. The fan fervor allowed for Mascolo's return upon a mutual agreement with executive producer, Ken Corday. Mascolo reappeared on August 2008 just before Days went on hiatus for the Summer Olympics. In 2012, after breaking up the character's marriage to Lauren Koslow's Kate Roberts, making him responsible for his own daughter Lexie Carver's death and undoing his father/son relationship with James Scott's EJ DiMera, the character appeared to have been written into a corner. With nearly the entire town gunning for Stefano, several sources confirmed that Stefano was indeed being killed off with Mascolo last appearing alive on June 4, 2012. Mascolo discussed his disapproval in an interview with Soap Opera Digest: Every single thing that went wrong in Salem was Stefano’s fault; every single thing. He got blamed for everything; when Stefano got blamed for this business with Lexie illness, I got angry.
Stefano and his daughter had an pure relationship. I adore Renee Jones; when she came to my dressing room and said, "I’m going to be leaving soon, this is what is going to happen,"

Shawn Brady is a fictional character from the American soap opera Days of Our Lives and the patriarch of the Brady family. He was portrayed by Lew Brown, Peter MacLean, most notably by Frank Parker. An Irish immigrant, Shawn moved to Salem from his native Galway at an undetermined time. In the early stages of the "Brady-DiMera Feud Resolution" storyline in the early-2000s, it was revealed that Shawn had maintained sporadic contact with family and friends in Ireland throughout the years. Including the "rougher" element of their hometown, who regard Shawn with a great degree of respect and refer to him only as, "Himself". There were strong hints that Shawn may have had some underworld dealings of his own in his youth, was involved directly in some of the early battles of the feud with the DiMera family, but this was dropped. Shawn was the husband of Caroline Brady, father of three biological children Roman Brady, Kimberly Brady and Kayla Brady Johnson, two adopted children Frankie Brady and Max Brady and one legal son, Bo Brady.
In the 1980s, Shawn was shocked to learn that Greek tycoon Victor Kiriakis was the father of his and Caroline's youngest child, Bo, the product of an affair that Caroline had with Victor years earlier. Over the years, Shawn has kept himself busy in a number of ways; the owner of the Brady Fish Market, after their business was destroyed and Shawn suffered a massive heart attack, he and Caroline re-opened the Fish Market as the Brady Pub employing many of their family and friends. Over the years the pub has functioned as a second home for some of their grandchildren and great-grandchildren, their first great-grandson, spent a great deal of time there while he was growing up. Shawn has been married to Caroline Brady since he first appeared on-air in 1983; the son of Peter Brady, the grandson of Patrick Aloysius and Nora Molly Brady, Shawn has a brother Eric and two sisters named Molly and Colleen. Shawn was devastated when he learned that his brother Eric had molested his daughter Kimberly when she was a child, which resulted in Kim developing multiple personality disorder.
Molly married a man with the surname Murphy and had one known child, who turned out to be working for the DiMeras. In the summer of 2007, it was revealed that Shawn had an older sister Colleen who bore striking resemblance to Shawn's granddaughter Sami Brady. Through his son Roman, Shawn has grandchildren Carrie Reed, Sami DiMera, Eric and Cassie Brady, he has four great-grandchildren through his granddaughter Sami, Will Horton, Allie Horton, Johnny DiMera and Sydney DiMera. Through his daughter Kim, Shawn has Andrew Donovan. Through Theresa, he is the great-grandfather of Tate Black. Through his daughter Kayla, Shawn has a grandson Joey Johnson. Although not his son biologically, Shawn is still Bo Brady's legal father and he is Bo's children's legal grandfather. Through Shawn-Douglas, he is the legal great grandfather to Claire Brady. Shawn and Caroline have a spot in their hearts for John Black, whom they were tricked into believing was their son Roman for several years until the real Roman returned to town.
In the summer of 2007, it was revealed that Shawn's sister Colleen had a relationship with Stefano's father Santo DiMera, that may have been the start of the Brady – DiMera family feud/vendetta. Colleen was presumed to have died in a horrible manner at a young age, falling or jumping from a cliff in Galway. Shawn maintained that she was killed by a DiMera, while Santo's son, blamed Shawn Brady. In reality both could be blamed. Stefano told Shawn that his mother was not dead and his father was still married and on the day of Colleen and Santo's wedding, Shawn told Colleen, her death is said to have sparked the Brady/DiMera feud, going on since Santo's death in the 1980s. In January 2008, Colleen was found to have not killed herself, she had left Ireland for South America. She died days. Max Brady is a fictional character on the soap opera Days of Our Lives, was portrayed by Darin Brooks from June 21, 2005, to July 7, 2009, March 15 and 16, 2010. In November 2012, Darin Brooks hinted on social media that he was contemplating reprising the role of Max Brady in the near future. Max was given away by his father Trent Becker at an early age, he was taken under the protective wing of Frankie Donner, now Frankie Brady. Frankie and Max made their way to Salem, they were taken in by his wife Kayla Brady Johnson. Frankie and Max were adopted by Kayla's parents Shawn Brady and Caroline Brady; the boys gained sisters Kimberly Brady and Kayla Brady. Shortly thereafter, both boys left town. In mid-2005, more than a decade Jennifer Horton Deveraux ran into Max at the racetrack and renewed ties with both him and Frankie. Once back in Salem, Max was drawn to Chelsea, his adoptive niece; when Chelsea was blamed for the accidental death of Zack Brady, Max stood by her side and kept her dark secret for as long as possible.
Max broke up with Chelsea, feeling she was too immature for him. He dated fellow racer car driver Stephanie Johnson, who happened to be his adoptive niece. Max briefly dated his nephew Shawn-Douglas' soon-to-be-ex-wife Mimi. During that same time, Max employed Abby Deveraux at his garage. Since his brother Frankie was engaged to Abby's mother Jennifer at the time, she was expected to be his future step-niece; when Mimi experienced a variety of personal and family difficulties, he tried to stand by her, but confided in Abby that he was finding it difficult and that he didn't know what to do with his life. Abby admitted that she was jealous of his relationship with Mimi, that she had had a crush on him for a long time; when Mimi left town soon thereafter and Abby dated until Abby left Salem as well. Jeremy Horton convinced Max to become his financial banker for Touch the Sky Airlines and for his side business of smuggling of what he believes to be designer clothes, it was revealed that the airline and clothes smuggling were both fronts for a human trafficking ring, Max lost his garage in the subsequent investigation.
Max renewed his relationship with Stephanie Johnson, supported her as she dealt with her rape at the hands of Ford Decker. Max's actions cause confusion and he is alienated by his friends, it seemed he was trying to interfere with Nick Fallon's proposal for a grant to develop green energy, but in actuality he had corrected errors in a way that demonstrated a significant competence in mathematics and science. Max's biological father reemerged as Trent Robbins, the dean of the physics department at Salem University, as well as his half sister, Melanie; the change of his last name from Becker has not been explained, so may be either a retcon or an indication of an alias used by the character. Max was a suspect in the death of Trent, but it was found out that Nick Fallon killed him so he could be with Robbins's daughter, Melanie. Due to the confusion of Trent's impact on Max, Stephanie began to have trust issues with Max. Though she stood by his side the whole time, she didn't like Max's newly found sister, Melanie.
Melanie is a troublemaker and Stephanie thought that Melanie was just trying to break her and Max up. Stephanie and Max ended their relationship thanks to Melanie and trust issues. After the breakup, Max started talking to Chelsea a lot about what he felt since she is Stephanie's best friend, they started talking a lot more than normal. Both made it clear to everyone they were just friends, although there were signs of attraction everywhere. On New Year's Eve, Max was Chelsea's date to the big party at Chez Rouge. At midnight, they shared Chelsea ran away embarrassed, they got back together shortly after. Chelsea left for London to help her mom recover, she was gone for a while and on June 7, 2009, Chelsea returned to Salem to inform everybody that Billie was doing better. She asks Max to move to London with her and he accepts; the Bradys hear that Chelsea and Max are planning to tie the knot. The two lovebirds soon flee to London together to assist Billie in her job. On March 15, 2010, Max returned home to Salem for a few hours on his way to a Medical Convention in San Diego, where he first surprised Caroline.
She told him what had been going on with his once biological half-sister. He went to visit Melanie at the hospital, where he tried to convince her to give Carly a chance. Melanie said how although Trent isn't her father, that Daniel is, the two will always be brother and sister no matter what biology says. Brady family Max at soapcentral.com
