The Saemaeul-ho, formerly known as the Saemaul-ho and Saemaul Express, was a class of train operated by Korail, the national railroad of South Korea, since February 8, 1969. Before the introduction of
Retired Car-type Saemaeul-ho train hauled by a Hyundai Precision GT26CW-2 locomotive at Suwon Station.

KTX is the first high-speed rail system in South Korea, and is operated by Korail. Construction began on the high-speed line from Seoul to Busan in 1992. KTX services were launched on April 1, 2004.
