In Shizuku, the story is presented over a static image and overlaid over the characters. A custom font was developed for the text Shizuku that had each member of the Leaf staff tasked to make a set amount of characters.
Shizuku was first released in 1996 for the NEC PC-9801. This was around the time the home computer was at the end of its life-cycle as a gaming platform.
